All this talk about Hinkley, or Koch, or Cardone, but if we want real lasting change then it has to be the constitution. Otherwise there is no guarantee we don't end up right back where we started at some point in the future.

Hi ET. How do we achieve this or at least get the ball rolling?

These Black and White Noise are clearly written by a bigfooty poster (maybe ET himself) and they are always spot on. My fear is that only about 3 people read them. There really needs to be a bigger forum (not just the like minded here) that these things can be spread on. As Im not on Socials, do these get posted on Facebook/X? Do they get emailed to Advertiser, MMM/aa? I don't know? They are always well written and say exactly what needs to be said, but is anybody hearing them?

I've been told by someone who would know that "I would be surprised who at the club read them".

And If everyone on BigFooty who likes it shared it to one supporters group it wouldn't take long to get mass exposure.

Truly, more power to you. It sucks that the AFL picks your board, just as it does my club’s board. It ain’t right.

Honestly you guys getting your constitution fixed is probably the best chance we have of getting change.

All Port supporters should be informing their Crows friends, family and colleagues of the opportunity they have in 2028.

It needs to start with a groundswell of support for the concept.

Right now too many people don't see it as an issue for there to be any possibility of change.
Yep.
We need tend of thousands of signatories to a petition to change the Constitution.
Otherwise it will never get any traction whatsoever.

Two answers for this:

1. Video — both long and short versions: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.

2. Audio — both reading and commentary: Spotify, Podcasts, etc.

It would broaden the audience exponentially.

It doesn’t need to be done by TB&WN himself. Anyone can pick it up and do it.

Do other clubs that have very limited member representation on the boards have a members union or collective of sorts or something?

I’ve suggested this a few times here already.

I've said this before but this is where Bring Back The Bars can be of some use.

Absolutely. The Venn diagram of people who want the bars back and those who want a member controlled board is a circle.

The bars are an easy to understand, visual identifier that everyone immediately understands is important and why it's important. The constitutional issue is a harder sell, but the BBTB campaign did the hard work of getting people interested.

It might be as simple as sharing posts from The Black and White Noise on the BTBB socials.

Absolutely. This is a fight that the supporter bases should be working together on. I don't just think it's important, I think it's necessary for success.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think that Adelaide automatically gets member control over their board in 2028, I think the AFL just loses control, right? So the board members could vote to remain in power and to keep the members out?

We don't even have that.

Without a groundswell of pressure from the members, the Crows board will likely try to have the trigger pass by as quietly as possible. Our board certainly won't be changing anything without very significant pressure.

The other thing I think we need, and this might be more difficult, are prominent club champions to be the face of the movement. We had Tredders but unfortunately he's probably not the face we want anymore. We don't have many other obvious candidates apart from maybe the likes of Fiacchi. No idea who the Crows would have who would be suitable.

Lol how can you even look at footy as anything but scripted WWE when the league itself controls the clubs. Clubs outside Victoria are just there to play the role of heel.

Great article but thought it could of gone a bit harder on the length of tenure of the current encumbents & emphasised their lack of success & lack of football knowhow. I acknowledge thats not the main point of the article.

This issue has been raised by members at the last 2 AGMs & it has caused a stir. However, the pathetic turnout by members at the 2025 AGM did not help our stance.
