He should be in. Plain and simple.
Actually knows how to defend his man. Still has some speed and has a very good side step.

Bonkers that our best small defender cannot get a game.
Tend to agree. The club won't be doing this and will be taking it one week at a time, but we're fans, so who gives a f**k?

Looking forward to who we're likely to play if we're going to play in a prelim final at a minimum (pass mark from here IMO) it's names like....

Rankine, Rachele, Keays, Neale-Bullen, Elliot, Hill, Cameron, Ah Chee, Reid, Frederick, Bolton, Switkowski, Moore, Watson, Ginnivan.

Over the last decade, smalls win you finals. We know that ourselves. Mullin will be tagging the best mid every week from here on in too.

There's far worse options than bringing Bews back for a specific role of just blanketing the best opposition small.

They're playing Zac Guthrie every week ;)

In all seriousness, in the modern era, to be a good small defender you need to be effective both in defence, and attack. Bews' issue is that he really struggles to hurt teams going the other way.

Our small defenders - Guthrie, O'Connor, Humphries, and Jack Henry - are better overhead than Bews, and with the exception of O’Connor, hurt opposition sides a lot more.

Absolutely felt we left more than two goals out there
Cameron missed two sodas in the last 5 mins alone

A couple of the misses may have been balanced out by a couple we did kick that we may not have been expected to

I like the guy but 1 vote for Scratcher seems a little 🤨 this week, and based really on that purple patch in the first quarter

After quarter time he was extremely quiet, registering just 2 disposals, 2 marks & 3 tackles - he still played 80% TOG but went virtually unsighted after the 13 minute mark of the first quarter

Alternatively he played the perfect decoy game 😂

Was absolutely dominant for the few minutes that the game was still in the balance.

Equal third on the leaderboard.

1st - Anderson
2nd - Dawson, Rowell
3rd - Daicos, Smith.

Technically equal fifth

1st: Noah Anderson, 93pts
2nd: Jordan Dawson & Matt Rowell, 88pts
4th: Nick Daicos & Bailey Smith, 87pts

When looking at cumulative totals such as coaches votes, goals kicked, Olympic medal events etc, when there's a tie or equal points, they are tied for the highest position but you count how many are equal and move on to the next position beyond the number tied

An easy way of looking it is with the goal kicking ladders - below is the current totals for this year with Jezza way out in front, while there's also individual players in second & third

When we get to 4th we gave Georgiades & Gunston tied with 53, meaning we don't have any in 5th and instead just to 6th

It's the same with 9th where we see a 3-way tie meaning that we jump to 12th

We see the same in the Olympics - if there's a tie for gold, than no silver medal is awarded & it's straight to bronze; if there's a tie for silver than there's no bronze medal

Break Up the votes, and you find that Mannagh got five votes from one coach and nothing from the other.
Conversely Holmes got four votes from the coach who gave Mannagh nothing, but received nothing from the other coach.

It's the same as golf.

#1 wins
#2 (in this case) share prize money for 2nd and third.
#3 (in this case) share the prize money for 4th and 5th.

The next guy is 6th. Not 4th.

That is actually a crazy voting pattern. No one agrees on anything except Smith

Conway was injured in the vfl on the weekend

As for the 23 from Friday danger and Martin will come back for Clark and knevitt.
No one else will get into the 23 except maybe Duncan but if we get no injuries it will be no change. Duncan bews etc will miss out.
What was Conway's injury?
Though he was rested 2nd half
