Keane's 5th game in the coaches votes this year, generally picking up 1 or 2. The other players with 5+ games in the votes are Dawson, Thilthorpe, Rankine, Keays, Soligo, Neal-Bullen, Worrell and Laird, which I think looks quite a bit like our top 10 in the BnF, maybe with ROB or Max thrown in. Pretty good spread this year in terms of roles.

Hard to perform well when you've got 9 players on the field underperforming, seven of whom are running at under half capacity

(Excluding Burgess who played his first of the season, and Peatling who was injured)
Chance Jones in the negatives is alarming. I was comfortable with him being sub but not anymore after that display. If we have an early injury we are screwed.

He seems to be hiding from the ball again. Let’s find another sub. Nank makes sense if we want flexibility. We all want Draper for impact but he seems to be done for the year.

There was no bs, you said he had a role and took offence that one would question you as to what it was? (Gold Coast game)
Had you just answered normally without getting so high and mighty there’d have been no issue from me.
I watched the replay and provided my observations which contradicted what was largely spread as gospel about him having a hard tag.
So excuse me if I point out when your opinion lines up with mine after getting so sour about it the first time.
Not sure why you think I’d want your respect?

Because you've quoted me about 20 times in the last month. You take every opportunity to engage with me. You can clearly recall an interaction I can barely remember. You are framing your posts that from start to finish invent a narrative where you are seeking some sort of admission that you were right?

Jones has been decent the last few games. He was uninspiring on the weekend. A bland take that you are attempting to blow up into some expose.

If you want someone to think you aren't obsessed then perhaps start by walking past them.

Quoted you 20 times (I haven’t unless you’re counting replies in which case you’ve done the same) yet you can barely remember the interaction?
What bullshit.

You said in your last post words to the effect that you’ve taken the month to consider your opinion on him and he can **** off and now you’re saying he’s been decent the last few games.

Not sure what your deal is, but lucky not everyone acts the way you do on here from 1 simple question.
I’m out 👍🏻

He made no genuine attempt to go for the ball at all. What do you think he was doing?

The most generous interpretation I could give is he ran straight into him and got him high. Not sure that makes any difference at the tribunal
Laird said he was trying to smother and we are challenging I believe. No point arguing this further, if they’re suspending this and letting off Stewart against Wines then this system is more cooked than I thought.

I nearly cried when I thought Thilthorpe was injured.
So did my daughter!
She jumped up and shouted expletives at the TV that Nicks should NEVER had played him.
Said that this was the worst thing to happen out of the game.
At the time I agreed that if he had been somehow lost for the year with a shoulder or neck injury then Nicks would have had a hell of a lot of explaining to do as to why he was even playing in this game.
We were both really happy when he jogged back on 5 minutes later.
Disaster averted.

If it was Daicos in a prelim, would he get a game? And that’s the current problem.

I don’t have a problem with it if it’s consistent. Which it’s not. We’ve see a Hawks player and a Geelong player get off with much worse hits in recent weeks. This seems like they were looking for something.

Citing Laird and not Newcombe in the same weekend is extraordinary even for the MRP

Is the logic just that anyone who gets injured shouldn’t have played? We only won by a couple of goals and Thilthorpe kicked 3, plus we were resting Walker. Resting Thilthorpe would have been pretty silly unless we had top two sown up.

How is it different to what Newcombe did? Apart from that Howe actually got injured

Laird went for the tackle just as much as Newcombe did.

Newcombe got arms around Howe's body and brought him to ground while he was in possession of the ball

Laird just hit Cripps after he kicked the ball. If that's a tackle attempt he did a really, really bad job of it.

I suspect he wasn't going for the tackle, because he got there too late and hit Cripps after he kicked the ball, so if he tackled him properly it might have been a holding free. It looks like he was trying to apply pressure on the kick, lined him up for a bump (or "running into him" or maybe a push?), and got him high.

Neither should be sighted, what ridiculousness

I agree but under the current AFL rules they've been banning players all year for high contact like this in bumps

What did the second eagles player get, that got Thilthorpe in the head after he shot off the handball, after being hit in the head the first time?
