I just can't wait for free agency compensation to be handed out to see Carlton get an end of first round pick for TDKs $750k a year contract.

Whats genuinely interesting is exactly how these offers are going to be structured. These huge amounts being ponied around are based on estimates of what the salary cap MAY look like 2028 and beyond which at this point is pure speculation and may not be as big as expected.

The 2027 salary cap is only about 15% higher then this years amount so these huge huge huge contracts cant really exist under the current agreement. The AFL would want to be VERY sure of future earnings before allowing contracts that big to be signed off on.

Our first game was last week.
Left home at 9am for a 1:30 start and home again at 8pm
The kids were wrecked but at least we managed to drag them to a live match.
The only way that was possible was the time slot on a Saturday.
We need to be winning more games and getting better fixturing, Sunday games are completely ruled out for us unfortunately.

Good effort mate , if the kids are little is a bloody long day for them and yes Sunday arvo games are like i would rather put tooth picks in my eyes than go unless its a 1.30 start

Windy to Geelong is the funniest one for me. Paying a first (potentially unders) for a bloke that plays mid / wing with great aerobic capacity, two way runner who can move inside win his own ball too.

I agree with you re: the contract, but I am genuinely curious about how a delayed AFL debut (23 in Wilkie's case) affects longevity. I know there's a point where the body just slows down but it would not surprise me at all if he plays very high level football until his mid-30s (look at Zorko) and almost has the longevity of a Fletcher or Harvey.
