Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

What does Hinkley bring that Voss does not already know, having been a Hinkley Protege?. Also Hinkley is an huge upgrade on Lloyd but he is not a winner. Appointments via premiership environments please

So you’d take Goodwin over Hinkley on that theory?

Reminder - Ken got Port to 4 x Prelim’s - vastly different lists from the first Prelim to the most recent too…

I wasn't expecting you to see CD as a nice option for us with your interest in Port!
They are seemingly as happy to see the back of him as they are Kern
The funny thing is, some on the Port board think I’m CD 😆

He’s a sharp operator who’d inject some accountability into our setup. Unlike our lot, he doesn’t bow to sacred cows - he was the driver who pushed Chad Cornes out of the club and called Wingard’s bluff to walk.

McGovern needs to play the final 2 games to trigger a 1 year contract extension.

Team selection on Thursday night will give us a good indication of what his future looks like at Carlton.
Yes.

And we can't afford to have that decision taken out of our hands.

WIth the like of Saad, Durdin and Acres already guaranteed I would be absolutely gobsmacked if Gov played.

"Some on the Port board think I'm CD, haha isn't that funny! Anyway he's the best and everyone loves him!"

Ya ain't fooling me C4!

Did I mention that … I also think he should be paid more 😉

Hinkley absolutely had cattle for a flag, in at least two seasons - you don't make prelims by accident. That said, yes, the Power fans have been vicious in their assessment of Hinkley (we aren't alone on that front). In all seriousness, he wouldn't be the worst option for us although I hope that scenario doesn't take place.
Sorry to intrude but Hinkleys assessment is pretty fair on the Port board.

He has the ability to motivate players but at the same time demotivate them by saying dumb things at critical points leading up to important matches. Statements about "finals are scary" or "don't like playing Showdowns" does nothing to motivate you team to success.

You aren't? :(

So you put Charlie's lack of effort for much of the season down to not being fit?

He has never had the work rate and second efforts of Jeremy Cameron, that's just demonstrably wrong.

The lack of effort from Curnow and several other senior players is at least half the reason we are in this position.
This ⬆️

I'm amazed how many people here think highly rated options are going to take a demotion to come and help us.
I agree, it's absurd.

That said, here's the lineup I'm hoping we can land for next year.

Forwards coach: Craig Mcrae
Middlefield coach: Chris Scott
Defense coach: Damien Hardwick
Director of Coaching: Chris Fagan
Runner: Luke Beveridge
Waterboy: Sam Mitchell.

I don't see why it can't happen - I mean according to Sam McClure there's one bloke who's actually coaching the other 17 clubs anyway, so all these guys should be free.

How could you watch them and think it’s the effort losing them games?

Good lord.

Have you seen the skills, lack of speed and structure

Teams just absorb our initial pressure, then once they wear us down, they systematically destroy us.
I think you’re right JT. We have some deficiencies in our list and player types, injury to key players, lack of skills and lack of depth.

Senior players have also been down on form - Cripps, Weiters, etc. A lot of key reasons contributing to our poor year, but lack of effort is not one of them.
