Lachie Jacques more stiff IMO plays the HFF/Wing role and been very consistent this year in the 2s

I think Jaques will end up getting games at HB next season.

I don't imagine it's Croft for Vandermeer, so are we dropping Poulter or giving Darcy a rest? Or are we just throwing Croft down back on debut for Busslinger.

Even though I was fairly sure it wasn't going to be him I can almost guarantee it won't be for Buss,

Hasn't spent a single minute down back all year in the 2s from memory

Sellwood has been unlucky but mostly due to an untimely concussion & now the form of Cleary, JJ & Bramble have been too good to drop.

Thought Jaques was most likely to get a game vs WC but Croft in is very exciting. He’ll have a crack.

I’d have gone Jaques or maybe Sellwood. But if it’s Croft it is probably to be available as the relief ruck and still be of some use when not rucking or on the bench.

This allows both Lobb and Darcy to hold their selected field positions. It’s also an acknowledgment that Khamis is an unsatisfactory option as relief ruck. Croft has effectively replaced Buku at the head of that queue.

It almost certainly spells demotion for Busslinger. Can’t see us retaining all our talls and adding Croft. Especially when Buss was subbed out last week so we could get more run.

It doesn’t tell us who comes in for VDM though.

I can only assume this is Poulter's role. Buku is definitely on his way out (I know he played poorly last week).

I understand it's against West Coast but you would assume we would be settling the side unless Naughts or Darcy isn't playing this week.

Croft can play high and cover a lot of ground.
I'm not 100% sure he's ready but I still think he makes it after another pre-season or two. He certainly has the tank.

I can't recall a player improving their kicking as much as Crofty has in just a couple of years. The only two players who come close are Jobe Watson and Aaron Naughton

Poulter played high enough to be a pseudo wing. That sounds like the way we've played Croft the past month.

It does and it doesn't

If its for Poulter they actually play fairly similarly and Crofty has another 10cm on him with the same if not better running capacity
