I interpreted you saying (in response to his allegations) that you were going to go back through the thread retrospectively to see if there was anything that should be seen in a new light leading to post deletions and other action, as somewhat frenzied behaviour and due solely to the unwarranted lens his unfound allegations gave you. If I was incorrect in that assumption I apologise and I won't broach the subject again.

Bit of a reach there Bourbons. 1984 is about the altering of history to feed the State's propaganda. I don't think that selecting what parts of history are promoted is the same, as history is a moving feast with many different view points and interpretations. But give me a call if Trump is in there editing any of the plaques to say the US won the Vietnam War or were never at War with Japan.

That's a rather reductive (and largely inaccurate) representation of what 1984 is about.

Tbh, this isn't the gotcha that many think it is.

There is a difference in Christianity between laws and rules specified for the nation of Israel (as a theocracy in the Old Testament), that don't necessarily apply to Christians. Jesus argues with religious leaders for example about whether the strict conditions for the Sabbath still apply.

Christ wasn't arguing with the Pharisees about whether the strict conditions of the Sabbath still applied. He was questioning their rigid/incorrect interpretation and pointing out that the Sabbath was intended to be a blessing to people not a burden after they questioned him (of all things) on whether he should be allowed to heal people on the Sabbath.
