For the people who watch these things like Keys, are these NGA kids and the Banfield's any good? In all seriousness. Or are they kids we are going to list just because they came through our academy but nobody else would use a top 50 pick on them?
Banfield was quite good, has a good intensity in the Beagles match he played for us.
Would be a solid get, nothing special but certainly not wasted.

Maybe but we have to improve our list and WC are throwing darts everywhere to do that.
Sure we will miss plenty but we need to improve.

Would I rather a 23-25yo Ah Chee, sure but we are where we are and I actually like that we are in everyone's ears.
he makes us better for 3 years.

I am of the opinion that we need at least 3 mature players this trade period to help our list and improve it.
I would take Ah Chee over Starcevich every day of the week.

I would prefer we throw good money at A Davies at GC and McVee at MEL.

We are not spending 1st round picks on any of these players, they are all worth mid 2nd round picks and future picks.
Land those 3, add our 3 1st round picks, our NGA/FS prospects and we are a better side without using big draft capital to achieve.

I'm going to disagree in part. Players like Ah Chee, Starcevich and McVee both individually and collectively are unlikely to shift our team performance one way or another without additional few genuine game winning ground ball players.

We need to displace the worst players in our side now for what would be the best players in a future side to be competitive. Replacing Cole for Starcevich wouldn't bring us an additional win in 2025.

If we're trading for competitiveness they're we've embraced a culture of failure. Ah Chee is also 27 as we speak.

Depends entirely on what we are selling him for.

First Round picks will probably go up to pick 30 this year which also means second round picks don't commence until pick 31.

So exactly what type of pick package would you want for a contracted Liam Ryan in a shallow draft?

Pick upgrade always an option.

Collard was part of our NGA.

One of Essendons 2nds is about right.

Ryan plus 50 to Lions for Ah chee. We pay some 2026 salary.

Swap for Alex Davies at the Suns is close.

Carlton an option, pick upgrade with Dean bids threatening the compo pick for TDK.

And that isnt including future pick swaps or other players.

He wants to be in Victoria for family reasons. If SOS Jnr goes to the Dogs after their reported meeting I’d be asking the Buss again. Think we’ll get Blight too.
Getting those 2 would be a great result imo.

Still need a ruck and mid at a minimum on top of that as plug and plays.

Plus all these draft picks and NGAs/FS. Interesting off season by the looks.

Dogs might have an interest in Ryan too if he wants to go to VIC. Straight swap for Buss.

With DC signed on I don’t think there’s any point pursuing a ruck this year unless it’s Moyle or a developing young one like Knobel or Smith.

Shame we missed Dodson, will be interesting to see how he goes this week.

Can't see the Dogs being interested in Ryan TBH.

They have Rhylee West and Cody Weightman to come back.

No way am I swapping Ryan for Busslinger.
He'll more than likely get dropped this week.

Starcevich and Ah Chee are both slow and will be past their best in a year or 2 if they aren't already.

I'd only go for one of them if at all. Prioritise, McVee, Davies, Moyle, Erasmus instead. Younger bodies with more upside.
I'm just not seeing it with McVee.

Seems to be a bog standard HBF to me.

Alex Davies would shift our performance. God I hope we have asked.

Seems weird no team has been publicly linked to him yet even with reports he is looking to get out.

He is one I’d pay overs for in salary cap to get him. I think there will be a queue and without money being a factor I’m not sure we will be at the front of it.

Team will promise like the Pies did with Perryman last year that they will get them midfield time to get the deal done.
