A club isn't going to leave 3 x 1sts on the table and lose the player for nothing. Its a moot point anyway because hes Port Adelaide bound, but theres 0 chance you'd let him walk to the draft over taking 3 x 1sts.
2025 and 2027 equate to early second round picks.

So your effectively saying the saints are going to accept

A picks that’s the equivalent of a traditional early to mid second round pick in 25+27

And a late first.

No they won’t. You know they won’t. Let’s stop being silly.

Hes significantly younger than Lachie Neale and Jezza were when they were traded though.

Yes he is though that cuts both ways…this is the first season where he has performed at All Australian level and B&F level. It means he is less credentialed and less decorated. Lots of players drop back to being decent players after one great season so the lack of output at the elite level is actually an argument that he is worth less not more.

What!? 😂

“No sorry Mr Silvagni, he isn’t worth 3 firsts rounders - even though at 22 he just won his first BnF and AA blazer + widely renowned as a top 10 player in the game today.

He might not be as good playing for us. So we are offering less - just Incase.”

No player with a CV like Nas has ever been traded for three first rounders.

The Saints are free to ask for whatever they want and probably will if he leaves and let’s see who blinks.

If NAS leaves and chooses Port the AFL might need to extend trade week to trade month.

Recent article in the HSun

According to AFL player agents, St Kilda is considered one of the hardest clubs to deal with. Other clubs mentioned as difficult in negotiations include Port Adelaide and Essendon. This perception is based on agents' experiences when negotiating trades and contracts for players

2 first rounders, 1 being future. As the main posters on this thread ie Crows supporters, seem to believe their list is vastly superior Saints will be way better off dealing with Port as the Crows, again according to the main posters on this thread, will be Premiers for atleast the next 3 years meaning their first picks will be much worse than Ports.

And both were significantly more credentialled. This will be the first year Wanganeen Milera will win any personal accolades.
At 22:

Nas is likely a BnF Winner + AA

Neale: nothing (2xRoss glendenning medal winner awarded for bog in the derby)

Cameron:1 BnF + 1 AA jumper + Giants leading goal kicker.

He stacks up just fine. No mental gymnastics required.

Who was the last 22 year old superstar traded?

Don’t give me your mental gymnastics of Danger/Cameron/smith etc.

22 year old superstar coming off a career year.

If he leaves, which looks increasingly likely, 2 fiirst rounders, 1 being future. That will be the crux of the deal. Saints supporters will cry. But that is what it will be.

Yeh, no.

Port fans can try to claim this as much as they can, doesn’t make it true.

It’ll be 2 early picks this year at minimum. It’s up to you to figure out how you’ll get them, not up to Saints to consider “they’ll get nothing otherwise”

Port dont have two first round pick this year and next, how does a deal get done?

That’s like me turning around and saying.

Agreed, after you traded with west coast for pick 1 and their future first.

You don’t know what it will be and to speak fact that it will be 2 first round picks (conveniently all port has) is laughable.

Remove bias, do some research on SOS and find a comparative example of a 22 year old superstar getting traded.

I wouldn’t get bothered over some of the idiocy in this thread displayed so far.

As I mentioned earlier, the price will be 2 early picks this year or 3 first round picks across this and next year.

Over to you to figure out how it’s done, Port.

NAS is a top 5 player in the comp and he’s only 22. They ain’t giving him for cheap.

It doesn’t. I asked this question earlier and no Port fans could give me an answer.
The only way it become acceptable is to add another team, say Hawks, trade Butters for two first rounders and then give those to the Saints. Port dont want to lose Butters so I can't see how it's done where they keep Butters, get Nas and Cochrane (NGA).

I think every stkilda fan just wants realism applied to these conversations. We know we won’t get full value. But the take it or leave it nature if bad proposals are hilarious. The fact is he doesn’t get to SA unless it’s via trade. (Let’s not pretend restraint of trade or that west coast and north are going to magically pass on him to not upset Mr Ben Williams are actual real things)

SOS doesn’t get bent over in trades. He has history for being Dodo bad to deal with. We as a club are getting heat from player managers for how difficult we are now - see Windhager

Second point, all these stupid examples being used are irrelevant. Danger/cameron/neale/smith etc.

22 year old superstar. Coming off a career year. Out of contract not a free agent. No question marks about them off field etc.

That’s the marker.

scroll back a few pages, think one of them suggest they get a first with lord and whitlock. :D
Oh man you missed the other week where some port fan was claiming they rate Whitlock as a first round pick so that’s what he is worth in a trade

If St Kilda let him go to the PSD and lost two or three first rounders on the table the AFL should step in and close them down.
They would be deliberately sabotaging their clubs chances of rebuilding

Well if that’s the case and he has nominated Adelaide. Don’t change your offer from your 2 second rounders and late first.. sorry I mean 3 firsts.

Just let the AFL shut us down 🤪

No offence Stav but you were equally admant last year that Essendon could only deal their first round pick to St Kilda and any suggestions they wouldn't were silly.

Maybe you'll be wrong again.

100% I was. We certainly did try it was reported on SEN.

I didn’t factor in that Melbourne would give you a bounty for it.

So is that the part no one is factoring in? Saints to get a bounty for Nas?

Nobody knows yet.

Nobody knows yet.
That’s the point.

We have plenty of SA supporters telling us it’s take it or leave it with whatever rubbish they have.

You just used what I did last year as an example - it just proved that even though YOU NEEDED to move the pick. You still got absolute value for it.
