Gossage is just repeating a soundbite from Morris where he stated his own opinion, no actual news or sources cited.

Ralph proposing this 'trade' was on a show where that's what they do for the entire show. The night earlier, he reported that Reid's manager has been instructed to only get a deal done with WCE, which was also reported a few days earlier by Edmund.

As there's no actual 'news', other than Ralph's hypothetical and Morris' 'belief', people have naturally clung to opinion pieces as some kind of evidence that Reid's potentially on the move, when everything that's actually been reported on from the Reid and WCE camps suggests he's staying.
