Soligo and a top 10 pick is also acceptable.
I'm sorry but Soligo is pretty good. same age as Nas and averages 21 touches a game. We're talking about a trade for potentially the best player in footy who is 22 f****** years old. We need a king's ransom. Soligo will never come close to being the best player in footy and likely neither will a top 10 pick which will drift out to 17 or 18 after academy bullshit

Enough intel from people on this board, Joey Montagna and those who went to the Sandringham game yesterday to discredit that article before I even read it.

Like it or not, Ross has bought the media bubble back and unless you’re a St Kilda person we’re not sharing anything. See Max King for evidence.

Those who need to know, know.

you've got to be kidding.

is this really the list strategy we want to have?

we are trading the best player in the comp right now and you want to trade for 1 pick inside the top 10 and a seriously average player.

Soligo was taken with pick 36 and averages 21 disposals. yet we want to ship out Windhager who is out performing him in a massive way. this isn't money ball, its day lending madness.

that pick 10 will end up like pick 15.

if our aim is to tank and end up permanently in the bottom 4 then this is exactly the type of list management we should be doing.

the going rate should be two top 5 picks at a bare minimum, then a sweetener like a Soligo. lets remind everyone what brad hill cost us. now i get brad was contracted but NAS is out performing his level by a significant margin.

back to one page behind, just read that crows report

gave me a wicked little thought, what if the afl were to get involved in the trade and urge their nepo babies suns to shift that port first round pick to the crows to give to the saints?i think that would be the moment i head over to the port board

(naz going nowhere still my favoured option, but)

Will Faulkner writing this piece should not be a surprise… As I first said here nearly 3 weeks ago now, the playing group widely believe it to be the case Nas will pick the crows over port. His closest teammates, Mitch and Windy are very confident of that. It’s been a belief in football circles for a while now.
Adelaide will try their best to satisfy with a fair trade. However with the way the system is currently, its take what you’re offered or lose him for nothing (see the Bulldogs losing Bailey Smith for unders last year)
It’s brutal but it’s the reality of the system. Buckle up.
- fans don’t take his decision personally, more to it than meets the eye.
Just like that I’m fcked again

Adelaide and port just expect players every trade period. assets arent limitless. Adelaide, you got Rankine, Dawson, Peatling, Cumming (was a FA tho), Neal Bullen in the last few years. You can't then just bring in the best player in footy for the remaining scraps in draft assets you have left without giving up a number of good players or an elite young talent. Port, you wasted your draft assets on Lukosius and Ratagolea and gave up 2 firsts for JHF.
Saints need to be strong and tell Nas there isn't a world in which we trade him for scraps who won't move the needle for us so he's staying or going to west coast. We'll support him and allow him to visit Adelaide whenever he likes throughout the 2 years, and we'll pay you very handsomely.

correct

plus i can tell you right now North Melbourne and WCE will not pass on NAS

lets see how ****ing confident they are going into the open draft and potentially having to play that long contract out in another state.

I can’t see a world where we get his full value.

The trick is for both sets of fans to hate the deal.

I’m so tired boys and girls

This is the first time in 25 years of membership it’s really felt hopeless if it comes to us losing him.

We’ll just end up in an endless cycle where any good player will leave and we can stay bottom 8 forever

Don't let some nuffie from Foxfooty rock you. As Churchill said, "we didn't get this far by being made of rock candy".

Nas hasn't said anything yet and still not over.

This thread reminds me of M Ward...

Roller coaster, we was the best of times
Roller coaster, we was the worst of times too
Because you lift me up so high high high
It's the most unbelievable ride

You're like a roller coaster
You give me heavy metal dreams
You can make a dead man scream
You're like a roller coaster

That is nowhere near enough. NVM will go down as one of the all time greats of the game. You could have 5 no.1 draft picks in row and still be nowhere close to guarantee that quality of player.
Oh look my alt account disagrees with me

adelaide arent going to hate that deal. they're going to ****ing love it.

the trick for us is to put the fear of god into NAS and his management that he could spend the next 2 years in Perth.

SOS has walked players to the PSD and seems to have a rep as being very hard to deal with. by all accounts we've played chicken with the offers to the existing players which has backfired, now we suddenly want to be easy to deal with when we are going to sell them off.

its like offering unders for every house you want to buy in an inflated market... then turn around and sell your house for 50% under market rate because you just have to make that sale. its ****ing madness!!

Stav mate you’ve lost the plot, even by your standards. Nas walks to the draft if either Adelaide side can’t cough up the capital which at the bare minimum includes a top 5 pick and a top 10 pick. It’s as simple as that.

As it stands, their best pick will be somewhere in the mid to late 20s. They absolutely won’t be trading players that will provide the necessary capital, which is their issue to bear, not ours.

So what didn’t meet the eye?

I hope you are right in the event he leaves and we get everything we want and more.

I’ll stick to the safe space of both fan bases hating a deal means it’s somewhat acceptable
