Apparently so! They are all afraid of us now for some reason. Apparently when a team beats us it means we will beat them next time and learn from our short comings. This is a fact! lolSo apparently all the teams who have beaten us in the past 2 months (in a similar fashion where we cant score) now don't want to play us in the finals? Right....
Everyone will be confident playing us in the finals, put 80 points on the board and you win.
What is an out of zone ump had picked up the throw by Keays?
ive long been one that the only stand on umpiring is to get as many decisions correct. It's a standard that any professional code ought to have.
It would have taken 2 seconds to have had the 2 throws and the incorrect out of bounds of our boot correctly adjudicated.
Use a bunker, use captains call, whatever method, but when the data is available, use it.
The Smith non free was just an umpire freezing in the spotlight. Thilthorpe incident just a terrible piece of umpiring, in clear view of all 4 umps !!
i don't buy the ' it all evens up' catchcry. It might in a set of a million events, unfortunately a single game is decided on maybe 5 events.
So the team who dominated ladder position for most of the year, with form that was clearly superior to that of any other team, and considered flag favourites, having now produced an outstanding performance against the Top team, is an irrelevant rabble.Sorry to burst your bubble, No team is looking at the ladder thinking - I hope we avoid the Collingwood side of the finals draw. Brisbane, Hawthorn and GWS would love to pay the Pies in finals - they'd all be supremely confident. Adelaide, Freo, Geelong and GC would be thinking that they can all kick the 10 goals needed to kick a winning score against us.

I think this is another example of why you don’t understand the game.
I have taken the opinions of the level headed supporters and the stats in coming to my view.NS these are not necessarily my views but we can spin information any way you want
If I was Nicks, this is how I would analyse these points in the review
- we gave them a 5 goal start and still in front at half time so in the future, no need to panic, we’ll get them
- they only scored 56 points against us, barely over 20 points in the following 3 quarters, do that again and we’ll beat them by more
- our plan of flooding D50 works brilliantly - they could have a hundred entries and and we’ll still get them on the rebound
- our clearance game was off and we still beat them
- I think we have more upside than the Pies bc we were down in so many areas and still won
Every coach “fears” the other teams in finals bc anything can happen but Nicks would fear us no less than any side in the 8 - why would he fear us more than any of the others?
By all means be positive NS but without watching the game how would you know what the context was behind the stats you quote?
I would have thought the crowd noise would drown out calls on the ground, when in the grandstand at Collingwood games.Old man’s vent here but I’m tired of listening to umpires constant and incessant talking. Stand, outside five, stay out of the protected zone, insufficient intent, no prior, don’t stand behind me, who’s in the ruck, don’t hold, 6,6,6, infringement and on and on and on. Just blow the bloody whistle or don’t.
In place of simple rules like holding the ball, throwing the ball, dropping the ball we now have what amounts to a running explanation of the rules or rather interpretations of rules and the ridiculous spectacle of players wondering what a free kick is being awarded for.
This is in no way a reaction to a couple of decisions which always go both ways but a reaction to my love of the game being tested by making the game more and more unwatchable. If we keep letting players get away with throws and just letting go of the ball or the stupid spectacle of players holding the ball on the ground trying not to look like they are picking it up and, as we see more and more playing for 50mtr penalties I’ll be watching less and less. Pretty disgruntled today.
Good. We’ve beaten hawks, bris, Freo, adel and lost to Geel and Gold Coast by a kick.I didn't say rabble. All I did was answer your question that the other top 8 teams wouldn't see us as such a threat that they would want to avoid us in finals. They all know they can beat us.
Unfortunately have to watch most games on tele being interstate and it’s the reverse. You want the atmosphere of the crowd but instead……I would have thought the crowd noise would drown out umpires, when in the grandstand at Collingwood games.

The constant sooking about umpires/commentators is certainly an unsavoury aspect of the game. You wouldn’t put up with it from kiddies in the playground. The umpires have always yabbered on the field.
What’s changed is that the umpires audio is now being mixed into the broadcaster’s audio.
Oh, and the other thing that’s changed is that we’re losing and it’s making us irritable. When we’re winning we wouldn’t give a rat’s clacker if the umpire laid a fresh turd in the middle of the centre circle.
Early season form is irrelevant, you just need to bank points. Ask Brisbane 2024.So the team who dominated ladder position for most of the year, with form that was clearly superior to that of any other team, and considered flag favourites, having now produced an outstanding performance against the Top team, is an irrelevant rabble.

I think their midfield is too shallow. What's been overlooked the last 2 weeks is that Adelaide's much celebrated forward line isn't good enough to win them the flag. They have to be switched on like every other contender.
It's certainly not a star studded midfield. They're going to need home finals to progress.I think their midfield is too shallow.
Its not all doom and gloom. We have a good shot at it. Our firm line isn't that bad. But the last month or two it is a bit of a worry how much we look like Melbourne. They used to go on about how dominant they were when the rest of us could all see they were no chance of scoring. Our balance is currently off, and to go all the way we have to make some adjustments quickly. If we think we should just do the same but execute better, then I think it won't cut it.It’s actually great reading. Outside of inside 50 conversion. We improved greatly on our last two games.Continue your rants though. What fun. You’ve said the seasons over about 50 times. We get it
As an Adelaide fan I think Geelong is the team to avoid first up in the finals. I think we would love to get Collingwood or Gold Coast first up in a qualifying final at Adelaide oval. Remember, our boys were off a short break this week after a trip to the west and they are probably in the middle of a heavy training block to prepare for finals. That's why last night's win was so big for us.So apparently all the teams who have beaten us in the past 2 months (in a similar fashion where we cant score) now don't want to play us in the finals? Had nothing to do with winning or losing. Was a general lament. All goodThe umpires have always yabbered on the field.

All finals teams are in various stages of loading, not just the Crows. As an Adelaide fan I think Geelong is the team to avoid first up in the finals.
