Not an excuse but a reason as to why we are struggling to play well. North were always going to be primed for a big performance in this game as they'd have circled it as a winnable game for them. I would have liked to have won this game, but at the end of the day losing it isn't the end of the world.

This is the end of the first real rebuild year under Yze and we've won 5 games (North took 5 years into their rebuild to finally win 5 games in a season), we've debuted 9 fresh faces, we have 2 top 5 picks locked away and will get another year of development into the kids in 2026.

In the grand scheme of things today was a slight bump in the road.

Campbell should've been given a lot more midfield time. We sent MRJ to the VFL to play in the midfield for a month and then don't give him any time in the seniors. Not even a couple of centre bounces. Even though he's probably not up to it, Sonsie not given the chance even though it's his best position at the lower level. Mansell is a very similar player to McReery who gets multiple CBAs a game, yet we just leave him forward all game when he's one of our quickest and best tacklers.

Then it's been a disaster with Lalor, McAuliffe, Smillie etc.

We won 2 last year and lost a chunk of our best players, replaced them with high draft picks that mostly didn't even get on the field and still more than doubled our wins.

I don't agree with your rational. Would we have not primed ourselves for this game? Surely we deemed it winnable playing against a team below us?

Why do we get a free pass?

This was an awful effort. If we won, our draft our hand likely wouldn't have changed. We were playing with house money and still lost.

Understand we lost, but if the mindset is that the "Kangas set themselves" and we didn't, then we deserve to lose and will lose a lot more in the future because of it.

Whole game turned on another easy miss from Lynch. Goes down the other end and the floodgates are opened. Don't think people realise how deflating it is when guys work hard to get it down there only for forwards to waste chances. Especially if the mob score straight away. If he is going on next year, he needs to develop around the corner shots. He's had the yips for years now. His drop punts from 30 metres or less are useless. That ARC stitch up should never have happened; no it wasn't a drop punt, but his kicking for goal is poor. Worst of anybody in the comp.

If he’s on the near side for a right footer anything less than 40 out you can mark it down as a miss
