The deals being talked about for this bloke are ridiculous.

Towelled his brother up, who had never played ruck, one game and everyone lost their minds.

1 career Brownlow vote, 1 top 10 b&f finish which was 7th.

He did start the season pretty damn well, but has fizzled ever since Pittonet came back into the side. Still think he will be a good player depending where he goes.

St.kilda - pretty ok player
Geelong - amazing player

Unfortunately that’s just how things are

Yeah I wouldn’t be reading too much into how he’s playing at the moment.

Think it’s pretty clear Tom is gone and is very much in self preservation mode.

He has plenty at stake and can’t afford to put that at risk. And I don’t blame him for it.

I don’t think we should’ve been playing him from mid way through the season after ours was very clearly done.

didnt someone calculated it will take him to 100 games if he plays every game till end of year. that magic games number could be worth something down the track.

Correct 100 games next week.

If your son chooses Carlton over St Kilda after St Kilda gave your dad 10+ million dollars, youd have to be insane
Not sure why money have any real sway with that? Do you think GAJ's heart is primarily with GCS because they paid him a truck load of cash or will it always be with Geelong?

TDK clearly loves the Blues but he'd have to be a genuine idiot to pass up the sort of cash the Saints are offering him.

As fans, I honestly think we'd look at him as the evolved version of Rhys Stanley if he was at Geelong. If Rhys is Charmeleon, TDK is Charizard.

He'd be better than anything we've had since Ottens, but I don't think he changes much, particularly at the price tag.

Good player, but not a needle mover IMO. I don't think even the much fabled Geelong system changes that.

Question on everyone's lips: can Saints afford Tom with a $2m Naz deal now locked away?

Especially with Leek coming on good coin and Windhager yet to sign...

What a relief for TDK that his deal won't cost the team Nasiah (for now).

I'm not the only one but something felt different around Tom on the weekend. We all are pretty sure he's gone at this point, but he looks relaxed and was enjoying it for the first time in ages. Like the weight had lifted.

Now, whether that's him preparing to commit to us or he's finally told the club that he's going... we'll find out very soon - likely after game 100 this weekend.

Can you list the "cons" please?
I’ve covered those in my previous posts. The main one being that we’re already extremely well stocked in the ruck (both for now and also going forward, especially with Dodson), so the last thing I’d personally be doing now (especially after how much Nas has cost) is spend a fortune on yet another ruckman.

Have to wonder if perhaps the TDK offer has been pulled by the Sainters?

800k for Aleer, 2 mil for Nas, 1.8 for TDK...

Just doesn't sound feasible to spend that much $ on 3 players. We're plenty aware of that too as Carlton supporters.
I think players are going, namely Jack Steele and Rowan Marsshall. Take those 2 contracts away and it makes sense

Weird.

Marshall is way better.

High price for a Silvagni obsession.
They were on par with what Tom was doing in his last handful of games last year (where he got about 30 coaches votes in 6 weeks or whatever- which is what prompted our huge offseason offer) and what Tom was doing early this year.

Why he’s gone off since then is pure speculation and that includes injury.

What’s also true is that the almost certain ruck rule change is going to make Tom far more of a weapon in ruck contests, which is the part of the game Rowan struggles in.

At one stage on Friday night for instance the hitouts-to-advantage numbers were 4-12 against, with Ro being schooled by 45yo Goldstein.
