No point drafting quick midfielders if the 'genius' coach isn't prepared to rotate out slow ones, or even (god forbid) tag a 54 disposal opponent.

Taranto was 20th in the coaches votes before he went down with his calf injury a bloody good effort. Why not judge him on his season as a whole in a bottom-2 team, as opposed to one or two poor games?

How does a glorified VFL player get more coaches votes than 700 other players across the league, from a bottom team no less?

Taranto was awful today. So was Hopper. So was the entire team. It happens.

I am saying TT is not a midfielder, neither is Hopper and Prestia is nearing the end.

They are too slow, and they're not creative, doesn't matter what i say really.

We can't be playing them all in the midfield. If you somehow think this is a good strategy well........

Conceding 135 against North Melbourne is diabolical. Letting Sheezel collect 54 disposals is also diabolical. Our midfield got shown up in a very ugly way today, and they were largely responsible for what we conceded.

We need to think long and hard on what we want our midfield to look like next year, because a mix including Taranto, Hopper, Ross, McIntosh, Prestia, and Nankervis shouldn’t continue beyond this year. It’s awfully slow, and it no longer serves any purpose if it cannot even run with North Melbourne’s midfield.

Yet we won 5 games this year and were not predicted to.

None of Taranto, Hopper, Nankervis, Prestia, Ross, and McIntosh are kids, yet they get whooped as a group like yesterday way too often. Their collective slow pace + reaction time put our youth under pressure. How are our youth supposed to learn the fundamentals when they’re always under the pump and receiving hospital handballs from all directions?

That’s why we need to radically transform our midfield from next year onwards. I’ve realised that no coach can do anything with this slow midfield. That’s why Hardwick ran away the moment he realised this.

Only thing I can think of is a slow-moving chipping style that’s not suited to this era. Even then, we cannot play that style because we simply don’t have the foot skills for it.

5 games for our stage is good. The worrying part about the rebuild is having so many crocks and why is it happening. We have players breaking down in warm ups ffs. Fos played all year and I think langford and a few others haven't broken down why do ours? Questions questions. Another year of Yze will send us back another 5 years.
