Midfield was shit and lacked intensity or hunger. Hard to judge the rest of the team as they were let down pretty badly.

Prestia done, TT not worth a pinch of salt as a mid HF all day long but somehow we just don't get it. Hopper is ok he does heaps but he doesn't have much help.We don't get any run from wings or hB as there to busy defending. Unless Smiley Lalor and Hotton come on next season and the one after we are screwed.

It was so obvious that we had the talent in 2016 just our coaching panel was abhorrent. Once we sacked most of dimmas yes men assistants and bought in some great coaches to help him we had success

I am saying TT is not a midfielder, neither is Hopper and Prestia is nearing the end.

They are too slow, and they're not creative, doesn't matter what i say really.

We can't be playing them all in the midfield. If you somehow think this is a good strategy well........

I agree. They are about Shane Tuck level. Yes they can win the footy in tight usually but no good getting it on outside. Poor composure and ball use. TT barely hurts opposition, Hopper never does. Slow. Can’t run defensively with most mids.
Yes they will finish in our top 6. But so what. Objectively They are part of a bottom 3 midfield group so compared to most other teams it’s bad.
Once we get better young mids in there with enough games-2-3 years it will materially change everything because you have to have a top notch midfield to be a contender. Helps forward and backline.

McCauliffe = mid
Hotton = mid
Top-3 pick 2025 = mid
Kellaway/Armstrong/Leys = mids

This doesn’t take into account any free agents or trades we complete across the next few seasons.

It was a poor loss. We clearly didn’t come to play. It was Norf’s Grand Final, and other than Larkey they were basically full strength.

Norf and the Aints are experts at late season wins that catapult them to nothingness. We used to do the same … remember 4 wins in 5 and ‘unleash the Geisch’? Or late wins under Plough that inspired us to get Cousins as we thought we were ‘close’. Or any number of 9ths …

I’m stating the obvious here but There’s some glaring holes in our list.
The main one, 2-way-mids, that can run/carry, and play defensively.
Last year’s draft as good as it was , didn’t address that. Hotton is going to be a gun, but we need more of this type.
It has to be a draft and trade focus imo.
Draft a couple of speedy mids this year and a focus again next year.

None would have made a difference. I’d be curious to see how many wanted Hardwick sacked during his early years and in 2016. As long as we see small improvements, which we are ,were heading in the right direction. Unfortunately, many people here just like to overreact.

I would posit a 3rd or 4th division coach playing out in some cow paddock would have had a tad more gumption when not even by the end of the second quarter an opposition play maker had over 20 possessions and cruising the centre corridor at will. This lower division suburban coach may have thought to send a player in a negating role.

I feel sorry for LDU 40 possessions and gets not a peep because of Sheezles 54

It is not fair to compare Yze to another coach the real question would be a more line ball comparison between say President Joe Biden and Yze.

Yes old Joe would have probably been found aimlessly wondering onto the oval then got lost or locked himself out of the coaches box but eventually when he did make it into the box he probably would have faced the wrong way. That is the hard question would sleepy Joe by chance produced a better coaching performance.

5 games for our stage is good. The worrying part about the rebuild is having so many crocks and why is it happening. We have players breaking down in warm ups ffs. Fos played all year and I think langford and a few others haven't broken down why do ours? Questions questions. Another year of Yze will send us back another 5 years.

End of second quarter 28 possessions , not “about 20” trying to water it down 8 possessions is almost a quarter of football, and the we kicked 6 in the last ….when Norf were at the airport flying home , trying to sugar coat shit , smells like shit a stew like shit , at least there WERNT 200 uhhms

Yes it was until 2016 we had consistent improvement from 2010 onwards , we were harder and harder to play against as early as half way through 2010 in Hardwick first year

We are at the END of year TWO in a rebuild and we easier and easier to play against and getting easier
