Interesting to see what we do at selection this week.

One side of me wants to rest as many as possible.
The other side of me doesn't want to rest anyone, considering there's a bye before the finals.

The club will have all the data required on the players.

If anyone needs a rest or is at risk of breaking... I'd expect them to get the week off... Who they are, I don't pretend to know.

But in the end, we just want to get through unscathed and be primed for week 1 of finals.

Goodbye games... I wouldn't be surprised if there was an opening for one or two players.

See what happens soon.

Cant see it being Gold Coast. Not after losing to GWS It would be Lions , Pies or Hawks id have thought
Port this week will be far from a gimme for them IMO.

If there's one thing we know about Port its that they can get themselves up for a game, and this will be the last appearance ever for two of their all-time favourite sons in Hinkley and Boak, in front of a "passionate" home crowd.

I wouldn't be surprised if Port is 8-10 goals up at half time in this one. Something like what they did to the Hawks early in the season.

Be disapointing for them...

I think that would put them 8th playing the Giants . Not a good match up for them for their first final. Win against Port and Dons by plenty gets them to 4th and two finals.. better outcome id say

I don't get the whole fascination with these so called farewell games.

We're up to our necks in it this year with a chance to win another flag. Romance goes out the window unless you're a club not in finals contention. Personally I think guys like Bews / Duncan / Guthrie etc have been great servants of our club, but you're either best 22 or you're not.

It was more about should they get a run now in case we need to make a finals change? Given the vfl team is done for the year and we have a bye next week.
But it would be nice to see bews have a proper farewell.

Even if port win and they won't (they are awful) gc will beat essendon by a big amount and make it. Freo is the likely team to miss out.

Have to be Polk wouldn't it ? I think Blitz better practice his conversion this week

Polk has shown the better body of work across the season and it would be reward for his season

I've also fallen in love with Molier since he came into the VFL team

It would be more type for type I guess. One game to just give him a sniff..a bit like what they did with COS ..so Im not totally against it but he looks well short of body size when I see him on TV. Needs a couple of years in the gym.

We need players in who have realistic chances of being selected again, ie OH.
In that case I'm not selecting OH - genuinely not sure his form warrants selection

Polk has looked a much more likely option in the VFL if we're selecting from that group of forwards

Otherwise, I could see Bews, Kolodjashnij or even Knevitt come into the side and a shifting of magnets on the board

If Neale gets a pre-finals rest, is it Ollie that gets a reprieve or do we give a late late season debut to Polk or Molier?

Ah so a classic Jon Ralph MRO hit piece on a cats player hits its mark, astonishing. I was wondering how this even got looked at given no one had mentioned it all, but alas our tiger loving friend Jon Ralph is at it again

One disadvantage of playing Richmond in the last game of the year.. The hate will continue unabated on Socials until the start of next season.

Coming soon to a forum near you.. The Real Rubes of Richmond. Rated R18+

If Shannon doesn't play (and I think we should appeal), then I'd like to see COS set free in his place. I know he has played almost exclusively down back (he did play some minutes forward last year in the VFL), but he has so much talent, it would be an interesting option. And move Blitz down back to cover for him (but just for this week because Richmond do not have a Andrews/Lobb/Taylor for Blitz to nullify). It does mean Stanley has to do most of the ruckwork though.
