Of course from the 2010s when the club was run into the ground it's looking rather barren but we are coming out of it under Ross 2.

FWIW haven't Melbourne been recruiting St Kilda cast offs? lol

can someone explain to me how paying Nasiah 2 million over 2 years is a massive win for the Saints? He’s a good player, but overpaying to retain a player is not a win and show of Faith.
Is this a Carlton supporter who’s own salary cap is tighter than a clown car spent on their big 4 or 5?
Again be humble St Kilda fans, he could leave in 2 years. I wouldn’t be behaving in this manner until you’ve signed him up long-term.

Again you’ve misquoted me. I said that if it went to psd St Kilda getting nothing nas. Meaning that no way St Kilda would got nothing in the event of psd threat and St Kilda would of receive some sorta package from us.
He could leave in 2 years and just like Rossy said tonight on Agenda setters. You won’t be able to satisfy us in a trade.

Lesson for you guys. OOC vs Free Agency. Big difference in how that alters the whip hand. You want the guy, build an asset hand like no one has before for 2027.

Can the Moderators either lock the thread already or do their job as Moderators and warn/suspend some of these people? Seriously, I've seen first hand and from others also, cop warnings and/or suspension for far FAR less than what quite a few of these people here have been doing just today. Not naming names but its pretty bloody obvious. Just lock and delete the thread or something and move on. This is just ridiculous now.

Oh sheesh, was only last night you were taking personal shots at me and now it’s mods this and mods that.

joop gif him.

Yeah god forbid they be set back from 11th...
So out performing our list demographic without Max King, Dougal Howard at FB and practically phillipou for most the year.

We have still developed the best player in the game arguably and a bucket load of
Games into kids

NAS resigning for two does give you the whip hand and makes things slightly tougher to get a deal done but not impossible.

What this has done is has taken out a competitor in Adelaide. If NWM wanted to go to Adelaide this was his best opportunity to do so and next time round I don’t think Adelaide will enter any talks to bring him to the club that “door” is shut permanently thank god because a Wanganeen running around in Crows colours so wrong considering the heritage that surname has with Port Adelaide.

This has now become a two horse race between St Kilda and Port Adelaide. You’d expect both of our clubs to get better and playing finals footy and in Port Adelaide being in a Premiership window of sorts in two years time with the talent that coming to us.

To be honest, come two years from now the same names with get thrown about we’ll be here arguing.

Oh God give me strength.

You’ll need significantly better than the rubbish thrown up in here and that’s what your supporter base needs to wrap its head around.

Lyon later said “catastrophic” would have been “unders” for the pain Wanganeen-Milera would have delivered if he left and the club would have played the hardest of hard ball at the trade table if he wanted to leave.

Bergs + change for NWM + change. You’d think.

Nas top 5 player in the game right now. Top 10 at worst case.

You think Bergman and change gets it done do you ?

Jay Clark today, he had the first “how the deal got done” article.

“It would have had to have been either multiple gun players or as many as three very early draft picks in return or a combination of both. But a trade scenario never genuinely progressed.“

Tbf we don’t know how things will be in 2 years from now. It very will easily be Bergs + another top player and top pick for NWM and decent change coming back. You would expect both clubs list to be better in 2 years.

Talk you might not even have access to Dougie next year if the first round becomes academy/Father son free as reported by Caro tonight.

No guarantees for anyone that they will just get better

Dougie situation is a bit different we should get him in next year as both parties (us/Dougie’s family) have provided everything that’s needed to make him eligible for an NGA product that we can bid for and draft.

As long as the AFL give the tick of approval that all that’s matters really stockpile the draft picks and he’s ours.

It will make things very interesting if NWM does request a trade in 27 considering our f/s / NGA picks.

Said in the thread earlier if Port cant convince his agent that they can trade him he stays for 2 more. It could also be because saints convinced him to stay for 2 more years on the condition they improve. Similar to what Rowell did at the Suns.
Disagree on Port can’t convince his agent they can trade for him.

Chris Davies said that we could and I don’t trust that mf but as we see the sums that we’d offer NWM that clearly saids that we could get a deal done.

The reason why I’m convinced it didn’t get done is because NWM wanted St Kilda knowing that Ross will be there for the next two and it gives him more time to view the lay of the land in view how the Saints are travelling and how we/Josh perform in the next two aswell.

You missed the joke. And I missed Capuano.

G-Train by a length. Followed by Dempster and Steele and then the rest in a solid pack after that.

By all accounts, Nas really likes it at the Saints. A few more here might want to think about that before digging for theories as to why he didn't go to their club.

A good thing for St Kilda. If they had of lost him it would have set them back a long way.
Keeping him, potentially just sets them back a long way in 2 years, when the crows and Port come again, but at least it could be in a better draft and they will have time to plan and (Crows/Port) potentially have better draft hands.

Or

And try to get your head around this....

We're playing good footy and he signs on for longer.

Port will be coming off three straight disastrous years when NAS comes out of contract. You might get some kids well into the future, but the league is removing any discounts for that, and they still won't be contributing by then

Port's list is a shocker, and after being smashed worse that West Coast this year it's worrying that their fan base can't see that.

Stoked for the Saints to sign him for 2 years.
Probably should have picked a better day to announce it as most Port fans would have been preoccupied with the turmoil at the cross town rival to be too salty about this.

If I were Ports list management I'd turn the page and forget about him, you either want to be with us or you dont, none of this revisit it in 2 yrs rubbish.

Leave him in Melbourne away from his Family and friends if he likes it so much.
He's a good player but teams will put time into him and negate his inpact.
$2m is a lot of coin, lets see how he handles that pressure.

Good on the Saints and its hard to argue he isnt worth that sort of $, however with the current position the Saints are in I kind of just dont understand the point of keeping him for only 2 years. It is very unlikely even with TDK & Aleer that the Saints will compete in 26/27, if the expectation is that he will leave in 28 and they will need to start again anyway then are the Saints just better off to cut the cord now..

I also wonder if seeing Ports season capitulate may have impacted Nas decision to stay and seeing just how far away they are from competing.
