You misrepresented my proposal. He still gets a 3 week ban, which is still a substantial penalty.

On top of a fine (could be $50k+) and a suspended ban, it becomes a heavier penalty than what anyone else has faced, while still allowing him to play in the grand final.

I think being prejudiced is just human to some extent, and its better to be self aware than pretend youre a saint who's above. It's often those people who are the most dangerous.

I've said things I regret, but I've never (in a casual conversation with a teammate or friend) casually used a racial slur to refer to an Aboriginal person.

And if I was an Aboriginal person, Im not sure I would be entirely comfortable playing with someone who would do that.

That said, an apology that seemed sincere was made, lessons were learnt, and we all move on.
