Hard to know what the pressure of leaving has done to TDK. But… some of those games early in the season were absolutely unbelievable. His contested work and presence were as good as I’ve seen this year. Also, the constant rubbish that you don’t pay big money for a ruck is just that. Big blokes are critical at the pointy end. If he gets back to his early season form with the saints, loads of media types will have egg firmly attached.

Port are seriously faaarked. Worst time to be bottoming out. Wowee. And considering the way they conducted themselves with the Nas thing, I couldn't be happier.
They are a little insulated from the Tassie concessions as they've got some pretty highly rated F/S and academy picks over the next few years, but those ratings can change pretty quickly.

One thing for sure, it is almost erotic seeing the media shift it's negative attention from us to them. They absolutely bottled their shot at getting Nas by keeping on a coach for an unwanted victory lap, and by inexplicably trading a future first round pick for a player that not only wasn't worth it, but of a type that they already had an abundance of on their list in Jack Lukosious.

Honestly I'm getting half a schadenfreude stiffy just thinking about it

I think he has to realise that it’s not last week.

Mitch Cleary says the Nas contract is a flat 2 years with no possible additions on tenure

If true, then the 8 year trigger rumour is probably false
If true there’s no triggers the rumour of triggers is false? 😂

Will be interesting to see what happens in this area, could be a handshake/shoulder ride clause built in for the extra years 😈

So, Liam Ryan is averaging 15 matches a season and turning 30 next year. I have to ask, what's the appeal? I haven't watched the Eagles for years, got better things to do. The only things I remember about Ryan is getting suspended and a string of off-field issues.

“the dawn of a new, hungry era at Moorabbin”. Fair to say this place is one horny joint right now. Talk about a culture defining moment this last week
The Club is sure as shit not dying wondering.

Get TDK, Keep Marshall and Windhager, Get Aleer, nail the first round pick, have a good preseason.

Time to believe that we can do a Hawks 08 style flag next year.

1. He's a bloody good player at his best - matchwinner. Has been held back in a bad team
2. He's one of those guys who justifies his contract/price when September comes around - which is a time where Ross is hoping to be participating in next year and 2027
3. Adds to our indigenous group
4. Can mentor Collard (both from WA, both small forwards)
5. We have lacked small forward depth this year - hence playing Wilson forward and bringing Collard in and out of the side despite being relatively underwhelming for most of the season
6. Frees up Higgins/Owens for more midfield time - which is something Ross has suggested
7. Doesn't break the bank

His best was back in 2020
He's 30 next yr and is far past anything remotely close to his "best"
We are taking an eagles problem not a player who will shift the needle.

From the Bassat interview, talking about the infamous Swanky Brighton Dinner disaster that nonplussed the Wanganeen Milera family so:

“We did have a lunch really early in the year at my house with Nas and his family. It was takeaway Japanese in plastic wrappers, I am pretty sure Ross was in sandals and it was very different to what was presented. And I would be surprised if there was any offence to that"

I think Tom Morris has been watching too may Hollywood films! maybe they just weren’t into Ross's skanky sandals or the gyoza were cold?

Ryan wants St Kilda given tight relationships with Saints players including NWM

600k/year for 3 years with a games trigger for a fourth

Link to Marshall is that his brother Ollie Marshall plays local footy in Geelong so Row spends a lot of time there

It's no surprise we are going for him. We wanted Stengle last year. We need goal kicking creative forwards. He has been in atrocious team the last three years so it's impossible to know what he could be in a good side. Players don't lose their talent at 29.

Too lazy to reply in depth but a lot of this I disagree with and things like Dow when another year added recently don’t add to the credibility.
Has another year already been added to Dow's contract? I missed that.

Thanks for your appraisal though! No dramas, credibility has never been a motivation for my activity here. I'm pretty sure most readers are aware its just another nuffie opinion.

When you can be bothered, feel free to tell us how you would free up the required amount of list spots.

He hasn’t turned 29 yet, birthdays October.

So 4 years if that’s what was offered see him out of contract at 32.

I wouldn’t be chasing him but he can play and is very exciting when at his best.

He said it in one of the post game interviews on fox. Ross says he wants to put everyone in the midfield, I think it’s just standard coach talk.
Well I knew I’d heard it somewhere!
He’s been the everywhere man lately, has Ross 🤣
