Why don’t we move Josh back up the ground and actually use Houston for the role we recruited him for?

It was infuriating to watch Josh get tagged out of the game while Houston was kept on the wing

Not sure what’s going on with the coaching lately

I thought Houston was all right against Adelaide - he played on the wing? That seems a good place for him. Could try him in the centre square too, I'd be interested in that.

Great to hear that Howe is fully recovered and ready to play.

Also from Fly's presser, it sounds like Cox is a genuine change to replace McStay. Not sure how I feel about that. The 2025 version of Mason has so far been awful but I guess its about structure and an attempt to combat flooding tactics. Without saying it specifically, he gave the impression that McStay has been playing sore.

Re Bobby, I still think we'll see him playing in a Prelim Final, if we make it that far.

That has nothing to do with intensity… At full strength this year they’re a bottom 6 team anyway that’s won 7 of 22. It’s all about the Collingwood that shows up.

Houston at half back hasn't been working. So up the ground to him makes sense. Josh is a seperate case. You could bring them together by suggesting they switch between half-back and wing.

The coaching has been a bit slow to adjust lately, that's for sure. They should have moved him on-ball after half-time last week.

Personally, I'd be switching the Daicoses from half-back to on-ball and keep Houston on the wing.

Before seeing this, this is what I imagined his mind set would be (and the whole club).

He seems confident and didn't give away too much apart from what we already know, has acknowledged the reasons for our form slump and has acknowledged that we're heading in the right direction and alludes high confidence that we'll get our game back in time.

Just need to find form at the right time. We found some last week and time to build on that.

Yes but not only, Checkers and Membrey’s inability to clunk any marks from us coming out of defence and more often than not bring it the ground will have our coaches frustrated. Part of the reason we progress so slowly through the ground and give our oppo time to get all of their numbers back.

I was a ‘never again’ re Cox half way through the season but changed my mind two weeks ago seeing the pattern. Glad to hear it’s going to be considered especially vs Gawn (and at a minimum Fly mentioned how closely they are working with Dan re craft and running patterns).
