Anyone watching him in the Champs last year could see he was a footballer first and foremost, good skills, great footy IQ. His weaknesses as you say was his testing.
I am always on about getting mids so I was on Reid. I can understand why we didn't go we him, and in hindsight the development of Garcia, NAZ, Hall, Boxshall, probably a fair enough move. If he was in this draft, would be all over him like a rash.

Yes plavers like Reid, and Hall who we did pick up, is the type of player that we most need at present. Good quick damaging users of the ball, like Nas and Sincs. They bring other players into the game in ways hurt the opposition.

Tough calls to make on Schoey and Carroll.

I think Carroll has the tools to make the grade, as does Schoey but list spots are tight if we’re going to bring in Aleer, TDK, Ryan, Voss, Fincher, first rounder & potentially Campagli then some players are going to have to go.
I'm a Carroll fan but I've got him being delisted too

Arie has a bit more upside imo and he's showing a really solid rate of improvement. Contrary to what was said when he was initially drafted, I feel like he's actually quite a hard worker

These comments from Lenny are pretty promising too

McQualter is a new coach who doesn't know how to handle media questions about players that are clearly leaving the club

So he goes with the safest option

He will change his tune after Ryan's exit meeting next week and the media confirm it
Oscar Allan today:

The key forward has previously maintained he was keen to remain with the club he has co-captained for the past two seasons but told Perth radio station Mix 94.5 on Thursday that "negotiations have kind of broken down to a certain extent".

Also Andrew McQualter today 😂:

"We're still working through it. He's a restricted free agent and we understand the position of where that lies within the industry, but we see Oscar as a required player," McQualter said on Thursday.

Does Tim Watson come out with any breaking news for other teams or is just the Saints. He broke the Liam Ryan thing and Harley Reid supposed offer, if he was right with one good chance his source is reliable. Don’t think Harley Reid will happen but I’m guessing the offer did. Can anyone confirm?

I'd dump Carroll, and perhaps give Schoenmaker another year.

I'd really like us to go into next year with a list spot available for the MSD. We lost a trick not being able to utilize it this year.
I would tend to go the other way. Keep Carroll and dump Arie. However I am a bit of a mid junkie
Arie can go back to tormenting disabled kids and buying alcohol for under-age 🤣🤣🤣🤣😅

You only need to watch him play to know that his goalkicking is poor. He'd be a 50/50 chance of kicking a set shot from 35m out, directly in front.

We've seen Hammer be a borderline liability/decoy at best in the forward line for two seasons and then look far more effective off no pre season tuition in defence. I agree that his field kicking in the forward half is poor - this requires precision kicking and good decision making. From defence he can handball off to a runner, switch to an open teammate or kick long down the line.

I'm not shitting on Hammer - I genuinely rate him as a defender and think he has a bright future. Just not as a forward
38.20 over his career so far suggests he is a fairly accurate kick for goal.

If he and King get some continuity as joint fwds we will be in a much better space.

That was a lot of fun that night 😂

Baseless big footy rumour and that kid was torched by some

Carroll is not up to it IMO, I think he will be delisted.

Schoenmakers still has plenty to work on, his upside is obvious though so I'd offer him one year.
Fair enough, think Arie is not up to it, a one trick pony which is not quick enough as a defender, or has the endurance on the wing, just can't see a position for him in the AFL.

When it was obvious we had lost that GF, I just remember depressingly walking outside with my footy to kick between the two trees I pretended were goal posts.
I was at the Moorabbin clubrooms watching on the big screen.
I cried like a baby at the end of it
I was 33 years old? ffs

Just a reminder of our successful drafting and list management decisions
We've been better for the past 3 years now os not the time to go back to poor decision making
I'm changing it to tdk2ryan anyways
Might as well change it to Fwit2NoIdea for accuracy and truth in posting 😉

I met Dunstan in Blessington St Gardens, StKilda with a few of his new Melbourne teamates.
Had a chat & he was of the belief that he was under-valued at the Saints.
I wasn't a fan of his.
And he faired worse there.
That documentary he was in about player management showed a delusion in his ability that he could have only got from one place.

Did I say they wouldn’t be?

We are in violent agreement. So there was no rebuttal in my comment.

My reply was agreeing with you, and then just adding a reason beyond match day role as to why both will be there in 2026.

Both play on the wing might be the point. Without out them there might be a need for a stop gap. Hence acres isn’t a need.
We agree again. We also have other younger wing options at the Club: Henry, Wilson, Windhager if he re-signs, LOC..
