I’m not sure there will be much of a difference in reactions win or lose, all pretty vanilla this week.

Hmmm us losing to one of the worst teams in the last 20 years with only one win? Nah I would melt for days

Bowman should play, Cleary full game in the midfield. Dattoli forward and Id be playing Snell if he’s fit fairly sure he is.

Rather than surrender to a limerence for all players young and shiny, I'd rather we finished off in a ritual slaughter of West Coast. This is a team who robbed us of our back-to-back premiership in '06, their much vaunted midfield putatively chuffed up with a kit bag full of Bolivian marching powder.

Let us not traduce the spirit of the Bloods. This game may only be worth a nugatory nudge to our season outcome but there still exists a long resentiment toward WC Eagles among our great progenitors, the more pugnacious of whom would demand nothing less than the utter spoliation of Optus Oval and the gralloching of both the team and their fans.

To paraphrase Sir William Wallace (Braveheart) "Before we let you leave, your captain must cross the field, present himself before this team, put his head between his legs, and kiss his own arse.

Harsh on Pete Ladhams - but as I noted in the preview, I suspect he won't mind too much.

As for Cleary .... being the sub in a side that loses never ends well.

Fine with Bice and Corey, but would have dropped Rowy, Florent and Lloyd to keep Cleary and Dattoli, play Hanily or Leidler.

Best game of his career, just about the only Swan to show up against Geelong and gets dropped for a dead-rubber against the worst team in the comp. What a way to build a players confidence...

Thought Florent did nothing wrong last week, the other could have been dropped if there was some depth. Both Dattoli and Cleary did not deserve to hold a spot.

Well…. What was the point of playing Cleary as sub for three weeks after being arguably our best mid in our ressies for most of the season just to be dropped against the f****** eagles. Good job for the confidence. Knows how to get the ball but doesn’t get a full game against the WORST side to take in some experience for 2026. I just don’t get it, he’s not the spark plug type to be the sub but Deano did it for three weeks and for what? None of the ins are worried about their list spot so anyone out of contract who isn’t in may as well clean out the locker. Hayward and Rowy look gassed even Paps but they’re flying and playing in Perth! Deans tryharding and if we lose… what a summary of the season.

Boring 'Take No Chances Coxy'. Datoli was poor but the experienced players didn't help as they all bent over like naughty schoolboys and got spanked. Poor old Cleary must think the bench is home. Why not leave him in for a full match? Poor coaching. Why is Grundy coming in for the last match? Could have tried stuff. Eagles aren't that dangerous. As I say, boring selection for the last match. We aren't gonna get any better with selection like this. I would have put Brody away for the rest of the season, 1 match. It seems nobody at the Swans has any imagination. I mean, they procrastinated about bringing Buller in because there were doubts about him at the level and he has proven them wrong. It wasn't him that lost us the match against Cats, he was at least still trying. It was the mids and experienced forwards who refused to chase and couldn't get a kick. The mids couldn't win a footy in a raffle if they had the only ticket, they were that @@@@e in the second half.

I hope they play better this week but I won't hold my breath. The Eagles might even get hold of our lazy mids and forwards and run off them. You never know. Be a good lesson because the Bigheads don't seem to have learned anything.
