Only including one club players in this list:
  • Zorko 300 games - 300 games played; averaging 21 games a season - age 37. Comment: surely not. Would be an absolute effort to play until 42 but as the commonly known saying goes: you cannot cork the zork.
  • Harris Andrews 234 games; averaging 21 games a season - age turning 29. Comment: would need to play ~ 8 more seasons. Playing KPD until age 37 is a stretch. Dustin Fletcher did play until 40 but surely bigger bodied players' bodies deteriorate faster than midfielders. I think Harris gets to 350 but 400 is a stretch
  • Ryan Lester 228 games; averaging 15 games a season - age turning 33. Comment: nup, no way.
  • Hugh McCluggage 204 games; averaging 22.5 games a season - age 27.5. Comment: surely he gets there. He will need ~ 9 more seasons. Bloke is a Toyota. He cops a beating on the inside and never breaks down. His key attribute is his disposal so he could easily transition to half back or wing again if we want to reduce some of the contact injuries later in his career. Imagine 50k fans at Victoria Park - home of the Lions - storming the ground on game 400 no matter what that eejit kick to kick announcer says. Make sure you take all your meds and eat a healthy diet yall. You wouldnt want to miss it.

Hugh is the best hope given how quickly he got to 200. Hugh has traits where he can play a number of different positions as he gets older. Half forward linking role. Wing. What Zorko is doing now.

If he stays fit and durable, Hugh McCluggage.

If we keep playing 27 game seasons, Levi will have 300 up before he is 30 :tongueclosed:

Yeah, bit like F1 where the wins record has fallen over the years with more races getting added.

More AFL teams getting added in AFL, longer season and 350/400 will become easy targets for consistent, injury free players.

and sports science and medicine, so players and clubs are better educated about keeping themselves on the field for longer.

Jaspa Flecther has longevity written all over him.

Hugh is the other obvious one. Played 209 games to date after 9 years. Blacky for example got to 322 after 16 years, Luke Power 282 after 14 years at the Lions. Hugh will smash through Black's record I reckon.

Wilmot will play over 300, but it will be resisting the pull to leave the Lions is my concern with Darcy down the track.

I would be very surprised if Motty isn't a one club player.
