If we end up with four picks inside 20 why would it hurt anyone’s feelings? That means we’ve probably done some fantastic trading and likely hold 2,5,6,7.

It is a shallow draft but there’s some good list fits for us with later picks. Ainsworth would be a great acquisition with a pick after our 2R. LeRay probably won’t go 1R but would be a useful addition if available later for a wing. Cody Curtin will be available, we may look at Taj Murray. Still big on Stumpf and Knobel too if they nominate for the ND.

I think people want a bigger cut/delist but I dont think we do it is all. I kind of expect Harry Barnett to run around like a galah in 2026 myself

Trade 2 and 14* to the Bombers for 5 & 6

Send 32* (Hawks R2) for Davies (offer a ridiculous front loaded contract)

Go to draft with 1, 5, 6 and 8 plus (NGA and Banfield)

Id do this but NGA/Banfield all go as Cat B players and we use the 3 spots remaining for trades.

Its a bit sad we are not publically chasing players like Brisbame/Hawks do. We should get on the front foot a bit and stop being cowards

What happens when no midfielders want to join? Arguably its a situation we could end up in. We are much better picking up your Starcevich and McVee and giving it a shot knowing you got a AFL player in any case then taking well no one.

In my view if we take McVee and play him in the midfield its a better option then taking pick 60 in the draft for a midfielder but also its a sign of incredible weakness by our recruiting team. If these guys cant convince any midfielder to come they should sack themselves

I think the only thing saving Owies is the terrible optics of getting a player over interstate on a three year deal then cutting him after one season.

He really shouldn’t play another game for the club. Ryan leaving may be his only chance.

I would cut Owies too and pay him out.

Sounds a bit cut throat. But he has been woeful this year and even if he was playing well he is not the type of small forward we need. We need a defensive small forward who can help lock the ball in, have the disposals be under pressure if it is going out and crumb a few goals as oppose to mark/set shot type of small forward who doesn't apply pressure but is good overhead.

No point keeping him just because he has a contract if we are not going to play him and because we don't admit we made a bad call recruiting him.

Maybe it’s just me but I think Owies would do a hell of a lot better without Cripps in the team. That said **** he needs to learn how to kick at goal

I am in the camp of use our draft picks after the 1st round this year to attract as many best 23 players we can.
The Davies, McVee, Ah Chee, Blight, Reidy types if we don't target a KPD like Ainsworth in the draft all make us better.
If the extra list spots x 2 are granted it becomes easy.
19, Hawks 2nd round should be on the table to attract quality.
Blight and Reidy are only going to need 3rd round picks at best so easy to accommodate with future if need be.
Personally don't think Ryan is off to STK, if he is then players should be the target not picks.

Sharp most years is a pick outside the top 10. The fact we are talking about him at #1 means that someone somewhere has done a great PR job.

To be honest I don’t really see a lot of players worth going after & I really don’t see the point of adding players just because we can who really only shuffle the deck chairs & cost us draft capital.

Alex Davis is about the only player I’d be happy bringing in.

So out of the 800 plus AFL players you can only think of Davies who interests you?
