Yeah, but Smith has had a more consistent season and that is reflected in the current standings in every award that I've seen. I'd like to see both in the team but I'm realistic.

BTW, when do the AFLCA votes come out? I thought it was a Monday. Or do they hold back votes for rounds 23 and 24 to keep us wondering?

Bont easily gets in. I managed to get him to the number of games needed but is the highest scoring player.

Serong, Grundy, Keane, Greene closest for positions to unfortunately miss out.

That's a strong team, don't think anyone can complain too much about that team.

I like Bailey Dale but Jordan Clark is better defensively.

in Fantasy, very ordinary flanker. Good reliable kick but gets most touches in non damaging spots. Can barely recall him doing a defensive act like spoil or intercept mark. He belongs on the Wing. If they pick 3 HBF then next best I think is Dale.

Would be staggered if Bont doesn't make it. I suspect the selectors will see it the same way.

His name would give him a little bit of an extra boost, but there's no doubt he's still in the 'best player in the league discussion'. Frankly, the fact that he's had the season he's had despite a 6 week calf injury is pretty unbelievable.

I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect Holmes is going to be the 23rd man again this season. Didn't quite finish in a blaze of glory the last few weeks, which he may have needed to in earning a spot.

Cameron and Smith should be locks though.

I originally had Curtis in there, but replaced him with Moore for quantity reasons. I’d go Curtis as a replacement for someone over Mannagh and Bailey, but Greene would also be a worthy contender. Maybe Long goes out?

Merrett I think has been a super duper shining light in a terrible side - the fact he’s in a terrible side could do him in, I guess

Hewett maybe? Though I’m not sure who he’d replace. If you’re replacing Merrett with him, I’d probably go with Libba as a replacement first

It doesn't always work like that.

Hawthorn will very likely finish 3rd for points conceded.

Geelong will finish 4th but there is nobody really in contention. Sometimes it just works out that 6 or 7 players doing a good job equals a better defence than teams who rely heavily on a couple.
