I would definately be able to see the upside if i was Oscar. Pretty depressing to be playing in a wooden spoon team to start with. Even harder to be playing full forward in that team. Even more exhausting when you are Captain and are expected to lift others. It will be a much easier life for him in Brisbane.

That’s not correct. Used to be that way but it’s not anymore. Dons told band 2 for McKay so they increased the offer. Lions will make sure it’s band 1.

As I understand it the AFL tells the Club ( based on the contract offered by the destination Club ) what the compensation is before they make their final decision.

That way the Clubs that could lose the player have all the informatin at their disposal to either match, or take the compensation.

Draper has interest from Adelaide too so more chance his offer keeps getting higher whilst both clubs try to outbid the other for him. Not convinced the current offer for Oscar gets us band 1 by itself. We'll likely need the AFL to do the right thing and give us pick 2 considering our request for draft assistance and the fact that he's our captain and he's moving to the current reigning premier.
