I obviously saw something different than you. He was okay but I just don't see what he does that looks exceptional in any way. I think his best bet is to play as a third tall forward where he isn't exposed one on one. I accept that he's coming and I'll hope for the best but didn't think today was a good game from him. Hopefully he can take up Battle's old role.
In what world was “exceptional” the bar he had to vault here?

I thought he was just ok as well.

I'll back the club in to get him to a standard like they did with Dawson. If he can free up Wilkie and Sincs 10% more, then that's the improvement we need

He lost alot of one on one's in a good system
So did Sam Taylor.

Let’s unpack what we did see.

Impacted the play and intercepted.
Impacted contests.
Poor body work 1:1 (losing to Sharman)
Looks a safe kick

For 600k. I’m okay with that. That improves us.

Trav will be quality, be patient.

Let's not forget how Dunstan started his career. Let's not forget Billings' 5 goal game against Dogs where Bont looked like the poorer option. I have no doubt Murphy Reid ends up a player, but still early days to cast comparisons.
Trav hasn't grown into his limbs yet. It's unusual for someone his height to have the baby giraffe syndrome but he has it when he runs. Once he puts some size on, he'll be fine.

One of the things I love about Trav is his handballing. He hits them with purpose and hits a team mate in a better position on the outside. In a team that does a lot of loopy loopy loosey wristy it stands out.

Takes a lot of marks and gets quite a bit of the ball, he’s wont to on his money.

Aleer hasn’t impressed me but let’s see how we use him, maybe he’s the new Cordy.
Ross will get the best out of him, and will free up Hammer to go to his rightful spot, up forward.

He's got the raw ability and lots to work with. He's just going to take some time.
