I see that VDM has resumed his role as this boards villain de jour.

People seem to forget that he was playing some pretty good football until he tapered off over the last third of the season.

The biggest knock on him around these parts is his lack of composure.

Vandermeer makes some poor decisions at times but his greatest decision was in a final - the winning point against Brisbane that I think most people have forgotten due to what happened a couple of weeks later

I would do a straight swap with JUH with Balta... Both have issues but at least Balta has some mongrel in him!

Why would Richmond do this when they like any other club can take a punt on Jamarra for free.

If as is being speculated we pay him out and walk away?

I’ve been told that there will be a board meeting this week with exit meetings early the following week for AFL listed players who don’t qualify for VFL. Exit meetings for VFL listed players wont occur until after Footscray is eliminated so you’ll be waiting awhile before you hear any list changes.

We are also making some enquires into adding in additional assistant coaches, not sure if we’ll target Goodwin or Ken but with the cap going up and Bevos new contract kicking in we should have some decent money to play with.

Most of them are on AFL lists already and are Sam Frost/Ryan Gardner types

All indications are that Goodwin is likely to relocate to Sydney where his new wife is ensconced as the head of the Australian arm of Milford fund managers. If he chooses to pursue a coaching career at all, it'll be there.

How are AFL listed players (not including those playing VFL) having exit meetings next week when the AFLPA has given us an extension and they must be done by Friday?

I would hope the dogs try to get the TDK compo from blues in the Buku trade. They will have to trade it because it risks a bid on Dean. So say buku 2026 first 29* 65* 69*. For pick 9 and future 3rd.

I wouldn’t be going anywhere near a ruck until the rule changes get announced. If the information circulating about last touch out of bounds and requiring rucks to jump come in investing in a wrestling, crash and bash type ruck would be insanity.

Also let’s be honest Beveridge is not replacing English on the list or in the team

The last touch from foot out of bounds is pretty much the same as it is now. How often when the ball is kicked out of bounds is it thrown in? Not many really.
If the ball is rushed over it’s still a throw in. It’s only between the arcs that the kick out of bounds rule will occur. I don’t see it making much difference at all

Never thought I would say this but need to follow in the footsteps of Adrian Dodoro,

They had the Triple S's (Stringer/Shiel/Smit) we need to bring in the Quadruple B's Butts/Blanck/Buderick/Bond

Gives us then 2 younger options at FB as well as the lockdown smalls we desperately need

Everyone loves Tom Barrass and rightfully so, but what people conveniently forget is he also took time to develop into the player he is. Let's check back his first few years.

Drafted in 2013.
Didn't make his AFL debut until round 17 2015, And played 2 games, got dropped and then came back for one more game that season.
Played a further 9 games in 2016.
Didn't become an AFL regular until 2017 where he played 17 games as a 22 year old.

There's a hundred stories like this for KPPs who don't start playing regular games until 22-23 years old and don't even hit their peak until they are 26-27 years old. You need patience for these guys, especially ones still growing into their bodies like Buss.

But you’re not comparing apples with apples. West Coast had McGovern, Schofield and weren’t challenged by a poor defence in those days. Barrass was always good aerially and gradually developed his skills. Buss doesn’t have a one wood.
He is not quick, big, strong, a good kick, good interceptor, aerially dominant. So there’s no real base to his game.
Next year his last unless he improves massively.

What happened to that old saying that KKP's take longer to develop? Or have people abandoned that now.

Seems we have higher and more unrealistic expectations these days from fan bases. If you're not an A grader from your first game, you're a failure.

Also wasn't there another point about rushing recruits to get 50 games into them asap so they can start to florish and start to reach their top level? Sanders, Freijah, Busslinger, Dolan, etc. Are all way off that mark.

Yeah, people forget, especially when the more athletic types are able to impact early.

Buss will be a player that relies on strength and positioning. He'll develop that strength over the next few years.

I don't know a whole lot about the WAFL and SANFL BUT there isn't much in the VFL.
In the VFL Buku regularly got on top of the oppo's best defender...
The best I've seen would probs be Serong from Hawthorn

What is Borlase like as a defender, I think he's more intercept 2nd tall style than the gorilla FB we might be looking for hey? Is he an upgrade on who we already have or about the same?

Just thinking if Crows want to keep Butts as their next KPD up in case of injury, being contracted another year it might be a no go as far as a trade.
