Wilkie is stiff.

That being said, Battle has been excellent all season in one of the best defenses in the league. Wouldn't be surprised if he takes out our B&F.

No Wilkie hahahahaha. Was $1.50 on SB to MAKE the final team. Garbage

Hardly. Decent year but under no planet has he had a better year than Vlaustin or Andrews, either or who gets the spot.

Darcy had a good year guess some unlucky player had to miss our
Oh no argument here, Darcy is incredible. Just wonder if Naughton's output over the season (6/7 extra games) should've seen him ahead.

Either way, don't think Darcy makes the final 22. Cameron, Thilthorpe and Gunston would probably be the three talls I'd go with.

Some strange decisions.. ....as always.

Naughton v Georgiades (both played 23 games):

Player Rating: 10.22 v 7.04
Coaches votes: 40 v 27
Disposals: 11.8 x 12.1
DE%: 63.1% v 59.4
CP: 5.7 v 4.6
Marks: 5.4 v 5.5
CM: 1.5 v 1.5
Tackles: 2.0 v 1.2
Goals: 60 v 58
Goal Assists: 19 v 7
SI's: 6.9 v 6.3
Pressure Acts: 9.8 v 6.7

So 79 x direct goal contributions v 65. More coaches votes, more tackles, more SI's.

I'd love to hear the justification for this one.

Happy with the Collingwood ins. Would have liked to have seen Darcy Cameron on there but he’s behind Xerri whose omission is odd.

Naughton likely wouldn’t have made the team anyway but it’s no surprise his biggest critic is one of those on the panel.

Take out Naughton's 'soft' games against bottom 4 sides and how does it look? Georgiades has been great for Port most weeks in a side that's hopeless. Lets not pretend WB aren't getting it forward, they can't defend but they can score.

I personally didn’t expect Merrett to make the squad. He had a great start to the year, but he had a pretty big dip in the middle of the season. He’s an AA calibre player, no doubt, but when midfield spots are this competitive, you can’t afford to be off your game for the number of weeks he was whether that was due to Scott moving him around or injury is irrelevant.

Naughton seems to have suffered from too many of his mates being in there. Libba and Darcy should not have made it

Xerri missed a month with suspension probably what hurt. Best two rucks have been Grundy/Gawn, Jackson the best FWD/ruck

On Battle he hasn't played a bad game all year, been BOG like 5 times as well for a team that made finals. Also one of the main cogs of one of the best defences in the league.

Think he has been really underrated this year along with a few of his peers and he absolutely deserves to be in the squad.

On Wilkie I think he is stiff as well his season sits comfortably along side the key backs that made it: Taylor, Andrews, Battle, Keane, Collins.
Possibly playing in one of the weakest defences in the comp for the season has worked against him.

Georgiades plays for Port & Cornes hates Naughton.

Naughton should be in over Darcy in all seriousness.

He was one of the better performers against top line sides amongst key position forwards.

Grundy > Xerri

Please make this make sense
Grundy didn’t miss 3 games due to suspension. Also Grundy had a dominant half to a season and an underrated first half. Xerri’s dominant patch was like six weeks and I feel like he tailed off quite significantly after that.

Might be a bit stiff to be behind Jackson though.

Pressure acts useless stat to show anything.

SI%: Score involvements / Total team scores:

Naughton 25%
Georgiades 30%

If you combined both the Dogs and Port teams this year, Georgiades would only be ranked behind Bont for SI%
