Recap at a glance:
  • Harley Reid has signed a two-year extension, which keeps him at West Coast until at least the end of 2028.
  • He still has one season left on his rookie deal, the new extension kicks in for 2027.
  • Cal Twomey reports that the deal could reach up to $2m per year if Harley triggers all incentives (e.g. this is not a base $2m per year deal).
  • This is a straight two year extension, with no player option for a +9 or anything similar.
  • Get a big dog up ya, Victoria.

Hey guys, just giving you a warning. We have a regular modern day Isaac Newton on the Hawks board.

I would steer clear, when debating Reid, if only out of fear of being intellectually dominated.

Good man. Right thing to do. No-one will condemn him in 3 years time if we are still a basket case and he wants to leave.
Now it's up to the club to do the the right thing as well by Harley. If the Saints can spend approx $4m on De Koenig and Wanganeen-Milera then WCE must have the capacity to target some good experienced players to help Harley share the load.
We really need to get agressive and go hard for the likes of Patrick Cripps, Sam Walsh, Lachie Neale, Windhager etc to help fast track our rebuild whilst our youngsters are still developing.

Obviously 10 years is wild, but just curious as to why this deal would be better than say an additional 5-6 year deal?

No arguments here just wondering.

Just my opinion but 6-10 year deals I don't think are great for the club, it is just too long and to much can go wrong. After this deal and lets say we have climbed to mid ladder it is then we may negotiate a longer deal.
At the end of the day we are paying a huge amount for a player still with potential, that is what the AFL has become unfortunately. Think about Harley being on 2 Million per year and Nick Daicos 1 million per year. It just makes zero sense in real terms.
But clubs are willing to take the risk for a few years but not for 10 and neither should they.

Oh my. That guy was melting spectacularly just after it broke. That's just the gravy on top :tearsofjoy:

Speaking of keeping receipts, does anyone know where I can return a waterproof doona and adult diapers?

Team wet sheets, your boys took a hell of a beating today.

They're still wetting them though with negative comments about/him and the club. Weak c*nts just can't be happy.

The dumb **** has spent privileges wrong three different ways in the same post

I think I might also be the soft WC mod he’s referring to - if so EAD mother****a
