Max and Pedlar cconfirmed ready to go for the first final. Rachele looking unlikely
Agree regarding Max and Pedlar, but, based on the injury update just released, I interpreted things more along the following lines: While somewhat ambiguous, I understood Burgess to mean he is still a week away (eg not available for SANFL consideration this week). They are very happy with the work he has put in and how he is progressing. Our best chance to win a flag this year, by a long way, is to beat Collingwood Thursday week in the qualifying final. Barring a set back he is playing in the QF IMO, and then, if we win, he has a week off and so a fortnight to be really sharp to play in the preliminary final.

IF Rash doesn’t get up, what do we prefer?

Out: Draper, Bond
In: Max, Pedlar

Or

Out: Draper
In: Max

The latter would see Max do a cooling job on whichever Daicos gets hot, while the former would be more towards our usual setup

Nicks said today they fixed up a few things at quarter time last week. Not giving them a 5 goal head start would be nice.

No way Murphy can come in. We cannot go into this game 1 man down, hoping to reduce 1 of their players to 50%. We need every player capable of winning their position and Murphy simply cannot win his position.

Sledging works best when it's personal anyway. Instead of calling someone a rude name, find out something that annoys or has hurt the person in the past and keep going in on that note. Works especially well if the other person is from a bad family or has a skeleton in the closet.
Wow, you've really thought about that, havencha?

HE ISN’T! There’s no point pretending he is!

holding Rachele back for another game is a good call.
If we lose, bring him in for the semi. No tomorrow.
If we win, he is back in for the prelim.

I like Bond on J.Daicos. Feel Max is a better matchup for Elliott (even if Bond did a job last time) and can hurt him going the other way.

Get Peatling to stand next to Nick.

I dont think the club will risk him in the first week anyway. They would be wanting him available for the followup do or die clashes and would have a prelim as ideal. Gives him time to test his leg in the sanfl for a half.

Wild thought. I’d be seriously considering moving curtain into centre square to win this flag

The current mid set up ain’t gonna get it done

I agree, we’re gonna need some Blighty-type coaching masterstroke moves to win it.
In the clinches Curtin’s not even close to being ready to do it either though?

A guy with Milera’s in-close evasive skills could be a good move to the midfield though.

I have thought Milera also to give us that something extra in the midfield, especially with Max coming back and Smith, we are more than well covered down back.

Who are you playing on the wing opposite Cumming if Curtin is in the centre?

Smith? Dowling? Sholl?
IF (and it’s a big if) we were to roll with Curtin in the centre, I think we would roll with Hinge on a wing. Retains a lefty on the left wing. Retains a bit of height and ability to take a grab. Pace. Etc.

This would enable all 3 of Bond, Smith and Michalanney to play - if Hinge was to play his normal role in defence, one of Smith or Bond would need to be dropped to accommodate Michalanney’s return.
