Yeah that's fair there are always a few surprises that come out between the Grand Final and trade week but at this stage I'm tempted dust off this old avatar.

View attachment 2408300
Now put Mich's avatar on Homer's head..."But Marge, he hasn't done anything yet"

Actually linked to us in enough of a way that there's something there: Jackson, Brown (re-signed), Derksen, Worpel.

Linked in a way where maybe it could become something but it's not a 'thing' yet: Windhager.

Loose rumours from the interwebs: Duursma, Rosas, Flanders.

Depressingly, only Derksen could be classed as one of those ones that is strong. Pretty sad given how much we leak.
FIVE-CLUB HUNT FOR FORGOTTEN SUN REVEALED

The name Malcolm Rosas Jnr isn’t new in trade circles these last two seasons, but the extent of which clubs are chasing him has officially stepped up a notch.

Fox Footy reporter Jon Ralph revealed to Midweek Tackle that a handful of clubs have now made genuine contact with the small forward, who is yet to re-sign at Gold Coast.

“Malcolm Rosas Jnr has met with, or had communication with five clubs,” Ralph said on Tuesday night.

“What a crazy market it is for small forwards right now! Richmond, Carlton, Essendon, Sydney and Melbourne (are interested).

Surely he wants to come play with Kozzy 😍

Depends what direction the coach wants to go in I suppose. Guerra seemed to indicate they are open to whatever the guy they appoint suggests.
Exactly the feeling I got.

What Goodwin and Green is completely different to the approach the new coach will have.

I'm like you, the fact we're discussing scrubs like McEntee for the sake of filling in list spots is so Simon Goodwin of old that we will hopefully move past.

Hit the draft and focus in on developing in the next wave of talent.

Seems like a no brainer if we get him? Wouldn’t cost much and has shown a bit in what I’ve seen.

Hope we go hard on 2026 picks with this draft going to be compromised as ****. Push for future picks and try land 3 first rounders and 2-3 second rounders in the last draft before Tas come in. 5-6 young guns to finish our rebuild and then look into top ups from 2027 and beyond with our war chest of cap space.

Serong (FA) - $1.5m a year

This is great content. Really good.

Lamb cant attract any decent free agents. Derksen is about as good as we can hope for this offseason and we'll still probably have to cough up picks. Will be interesting to see if we offload Oliver's contract and bring in Bucks, if that gives more options. Even Saints have been ae to throw some cash around and attract talent. Is it Lamb? Was it Goody and the way we play? Is it $$ issues? Whether its finding a new list manager or moving players so we have cash, we need to find a way to attract talent. Its been Dire last 5 years.

@TimLamb there you go, the next two years all planned out for you. Its really not that hard.

Yer, let's "hit the draft" when we'll have probably 7-8 list spots to fill, 3 crappy picks in a crappy draft, and a list that will fall in a hole if we don't fill the peak age gap... Given we're already re-signing blokes not sure they're just waiting for a new coach to tell them what to do.

Pay Chandler 8m next season to hit the salary floor then sign everyone in the AFL. This is piss easy
This is where you need to remember front ending contracts. Chandler gets a 10 year deal on big money next year, then plays for free for the rest of his career.

It's always been Serong and Cadman's dream to sign with a team who finished last.

lol take the piss (I half was when I wrote that), easy to poke holes in that exact scenario but it’s the type of strat we should go for.

Mich0s 4 point list management plan to a flag

25- clear our list and stockpile picks
26- hit the draft
27- hit FA / trade pool
28- flag

AFL list managers saw the 2024 draft crop as one of the best in years, prompting teams to open up additional slots at the expense of fringe and developing players at their club.
But fast forward another 12 months and the lack of quality depth in this class has list managers cautious to cut their lists too deep.
One development coach said he expected a “complete 180” on approaches from clubs around the competition.
“I think you’ll see there will be a real shift from last year, it won’t look anything like it did,” they said.
“It’ll be night and day if you compare last year to this year, there’s going to be guys who don’t deserve another chance get held onto.
“Last year it was the opposite; players were getting delisted so clubs could take swings in a strong draft.”

Story about May being gone!
Would anyone take a punt on Jammera? Two year deal and see if we can sort him out?
Risky but if it worked we have a forward for next 10 years.

Or we could package lever and May up for picks
Edmund said Dogs have no interest in May.

TBF I would be surprised if any AFL club has an interest in May. 33 and passed his best. Would be a handy pickup in the VFL level or thereabouts.
