I'm surprised too. The amount of starpower in these 2 teams deserves some attention, and the AFL arn't even advertising it on their socials

Exactly, and why have the AA on the same night, when next week's schedule is completely free? Def something odd about that. Only saw glimpes of the game, but did see Cyril's barrel goal from the centre square

And special mention to Hodges effort on the final siren. We are often blinded by how talented hodge was due to his toughness and how easy he made things look but gee he was highly skilled.

On a footy free weekend (not including AFLW for the purposes of this argument*), WHY schedule this on a Thursday, the same night as the awards celebration?

I didn't even realise it was on until a family member messaged me about Cyril looking good. I knew it was soon, but I assumed it would be tonight or Saturday since it was the post season bye.



* Not a knock on women's footy. However, I feel as though the average footy punter who doesn't follow the AFLW won't suddenly watch it all weekend due to an absence of men's footy. However, that person would definitely watch and enjoy the legends game.

Hodgey's 25m handball put a massive smile on my face. Loved seeing him and Delicious rip it up.

Yep...he was superior to Judd in every facet but fitness. Which is why his career featured zero Brownlows but enormous on field success, almost the inverse of Judd's career (at least post 06).

So annoyed I missed this. I only found out this morning when I read the news on my phone.

I'm assuming the only the media promotion (at least up here) was by Channel 7? Saw nothing from the AFL and being that I barely watch much free to air TV let alone Channel 7 I was completely in the dark that it was on last night.

pretty certain it was a ch7 promotional vehicle, hence the "clash" with whatever AFL awards were on Fox Footy. (thus lack of promotion)
