Marshall won’t get dropped. He was great on the wing. Runs hard and a decent decision maker out there.

Gallop should get dropped but Fagan likes his structure. I think Bruce will be best served as a sub. But unsure who goes out.

Tunstill and gallop maybe.
Does another tall(who?) come in for Gallop or do we just go smaller SM? Tunstill, Gallop out for Neale, Berry and that's it?

New defense line up for QF just get the natives rumbling:

McKenna Joyce Lloyd
Doedee Hipwood Tunstill
You left Lester out.

We already get exposed for height in our backline, swapping Gardiner for McKenna is a nightmare waiting to happen. Not to mention McKenna hasn’t been playing and is coming back off injury
Last time we played Geelong, Gardiner didn’t play and with a much shorter defence we held Geelong to 6.15.51 for the game.

As I’ve said, Fagan won’t drop Gardiner, so it’s a moot point, be geez he’d want to improve on his Hawthorn form, which was poor. I’m sure we all agree that he needs to play better.

Marshall would probably be the stiffest omission in the history of this club given how good he's been in the last two weeks. I liked Bruce's game as well and i would love him to be in the side as well. His mature body seems like it would be better for us in a finals, but Marshall by all metrics is a much better player than Reville and giving him this finals experience would only add to his growth.

I agree. They were both great against Hawthorn. Hard to be a tasked with selecting the side for Friday week.

Got my tickets organised today. Looking forward to the pre-match festivities at the London Tavern before the game. Should be a fun night.

IMO Ty Gallop will be better for the run, physically and with feedback from the coaching group.

#standbyty
I saw Ty get one disposal in an VFL game earlier this year. I think he would make a defender and i wonder if this is where he played his junior footy. Many great defenders switched down back. Laurie Serafini leaps to mind.

Nope. As others have said, he was fine against Hawthorn (and in particular, Gunston).

Our Pre game festivities will be at San Telmo in the CBD. :D

Darcy.s weakness is banging it on his boot when there is a handball option.

Being old I can only remember things a long time ago but I seem to remember we had another red headed forward that went back to have a good career.

Dan Merrett.

Dan Merrett.
Merrett was a master at looking like he was doing everything he could to spoil but still conceding the mark imo. Quite poor 1v1.

True re Gardiner. And just needs to kick it high. Never understand the quick kick out of defence. If you kick it high enough nobody is likely to mark it

I agree, go with the slightly less experienced player who has more raw talent and let them rise to the occasion, look how it played out for us last September with Kai and Logan

Reville is older but is inexperienced as well. I think he has growth that will come with more games but Marshall will be a star. Pleased that I do not have to make the decision

I think Reville can be the 2025 McKenna. Clearly good enough to be a first team player but can basically play anywhere, perfect sub. Marshall is a FAR more talented Sharp in the sense that he can run all day. You are going to get more out of him starting than as a sub.

Can we kick straight - PLEASE!!!!
The sad thing is, Brisbane actually was promoting a charity during last Sunday's hawthorn game and they had sponsors who would donate 40k for each goal we kicked during that game. Kicking 8 goals 23 kinda was made even more embarrassing. Someone even joked that it would have been over 1 million if we kicked straight

If only we'd done it for a prostate cancer charity we could have been donating for each behind...

Both Hipwood and Harris Andrews changed ends once drafted. Merrit was another going from forward to back in our history.
FWIW Hipwood was primarily drafted as a forward prospect. He alternated on and off throughout his junior rep games but he showed more and was drafted at pick 14 off his forward efforts (and named a certain Joe Daniher as the player to model himself after).

Minor nitpick. :D
