The Sydney Swans have received utility Lulu Pullar in a trade with the North Melbourne Football Club.
The Swans have offloaded picks 49 and 51 in exchange for the talented athlete.
Pullar has played a total of 27 AFLW games across four seasons in the competition with Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne.
AFLW Senior Coach Scott Gowans said he was thrilled to land Puller in the trade.
“Lulu is an established athlete that crossed over from top tier soccer,” Gowans said.

Bit of journey woman who struggled to nail down a permanent spot at Lions and North, albeit both are very strong clubs.

But she certainly is a very impressive person and I hope she has a great career in Red and white.
I get the impression that we are strongly into bringing in good people to help build the club.

She's been rather good and really liked her last quarter against Geelong. She drifts back well to help in defence and gets high up the wing. I found this a nice little interview from back in June when she was doing some rehab...

We've covered the loss of Heads well - probably replaced her with players who are more composed and maybe better foot skills.

Agree totally with the first. Not so much the second except that some of Ella's duties are being carried out brilliantly by Zippy. Overall our defence looking more solid though still lacking a marking presence beyond Brenna.

I think Grierson and Van Loon have added some marking presence.

Speaking of Brenna, she has seemed a little invisible over the first three weeks, despite the team doing pretty well. Mitchell seems to have been guarding the tallest opposition forward - and doing it quite effectively. But after that, Van Loon has been the most visible in terms of one-on-one contests.

Does anyone have a sense of what role Brenna has been playing? Have I just not been paying enough attention to what she's contributing?

No, I think you're quite correct. I think our defensive structure has changed a lot. Presumably down to Lachie Hunter. Brenna used to play a lot of goalkeeper but now is playing more as one of a back three along with Mitchell, Van Loon and Grierson. Mitchell is playing similarly to last season spoiling the opposition tall very effectively. From there I think it's just a question of where the ball is coming in. Van Loon plays off her opponent more often than the others.
Still a work in progress I suspect.

Huge shout out to Lulu for her nomination for the Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award. In a bit of awe at her being able to combine footy, being a doctor AND starting a community venture. What an all round top person.
And just quietly think she has been playing better and better. Not just being one of our best rebounders but is a defensive wall stopping the ball from coming out of our attacking half and making great decisions coming in. Love seeing the improvement and confidence grow.
