You'll be doing your kid a favor if you teach them the world isn't as rigid and obvious as it seems at home.A 4 year knows that mum wears dresses, puts on makeup, eye liner etc.....Dad wears pants, has a beard etc. So when the 2 collide simultaneously as one person it may cause confusion and questions. Kids at that age are very intuitive and curious and I don't want to have to explain why they saw what they saw and complexities that come with that.
I couldn't care less if that bigoted/transphobic.
Things need to be as simple possible for a 4 year old.
And I'd like to think that the majority of parents will die on this hill.
I reckon things need to be as complex as your four year old can handle for them because if they get stuck in a world view that expects simplicity and straightforward answers when they are young then that's all they'll ever learn about the world.
Kids are way smarter than that. That applies to everything, not just trans stuff.
