Well how do you explain the ground capacity is 53,500 however there were 54,283 for the last Collingwood game. Remember there is standing room (in the stands) and probably explains the extra capacity.

If there was an emergency people would get crushed no matter what - but you could have people stream onto the ground.
Correct. They continue to sell extra GA standing room tickets

Well the attendance figure is supposed to be how many people validated a ticket or pass - if some leave during the match, they still count. I doubt many people left the ground during that match, though. I saw quite a few people leave the bays and hang around where I was on the ground-level concourse under cover.

If H&A matches are oversold, technically there was a chance I would be turned away because GA access is subject to capacity. It would be a bit weird if the Adelaide Oval AFL attendance record remains a H&A game, but that's how it may stay given what others have said.
Bring back the old days. Temporary Stands at the northern end, 3 rows of fans inside the boundary, as per the 1976 GF at Footy Park! 60,000 easily!

My biggest concern will be if there are empty spots not taken up by ''travelling '' Pies fans
I've seen this sentiment in a few different places now. What's the logic behind it? That people will buy tickets and just not go?

I was wondering similarly. I'm happy if they bought tickets and don't show up = fewer Mugpie supporters at the game. Fkem, if they're dumb enough to waste $s like that.

I don't give a ff if there are 53,000 there or 55,000. There'll still be plenty of pro-Crows support.
All I want for (an early) Xmas is the win :sneaky:.

Do they still count staff? They used to although that may be just for the cricket?

The only ones that wont show up, will be our supporters who didn't realize early enough, that some of the bail conditions, prevented us from leaving the state and were turned around :p
Just dont go by paddleboat
