Has our list Management team lost the plot? If Ryan is held to his contract, Cripps, Chesser and Cole sign the deals offered,. How many Main list spots are we left to fill.

We have McCarthy, Hutchinson, Brock, Maric and Newton as Rookies (McCarthy offered a 2 year deal, Main List?) (Newton offered a 1 year deal, Main List?) Then 3 NGA's in Livingstone, Champion and Dewar?

Yep only conclusion I can find is we have extra rookie list spots approved (was always going to happen, it’s the easiest one to approve) and we move Cripps, Cole and maybe Barnett to rookie list spots. Similar to what other teams have done. No one is going to select those guys in the draft and if they take Barnett beautiful we don’t have to pay his contract.

Minor detail seemingly I know, but if everyone is assuming Carlton may want CDT they can get him at 2. If they want Duursma I think we can ask for a little more back than Warner straight swap. (A later pick to help us trade other picks up)

Little bit like us with Carlton last year (now reversed), we aren’t the ones pushing it and nothing falls over for us if it doesn’t get done. That has value

Yeah but which one of those 2 do we actually want or need? Is Duff-Tytler's ceiling Rowan Marshall? Is Duursma like his brothers?
If Zeke is the best kid it's a moot point anyway. We're like North in 2023 picking the best after Harley. And if that's the case I'd rather Cumming this year as he's a natural Mid, not a tall half back type in Duursma. We could grab him at pick 2 which would be pick 6 anyway.
I'd just like to see us put a few mids around Harley now who can turn things around for the club in 2026, not in 3 years time.

Sounds like his contract offers are very close to what Brisbane are offering Allen so hard to see the AFL denying them band 1.

With 3 picks in the top 10 can almost guarantee that Essendon will be trying to get a deal done for 1 or 2 to get Duursma.

If for no other reason than because they still have PTSD from when they took Perkins, Cox & Reid with consecutive top 10 picks

Ryan will leave one way or another. If STK are dickheads he’ll probably end up at Essington. Chesser is more likely to go than stay (I hope he stays) and it’s odd the club hasn’t announced extensions for Cole and Cripps so they may be waiting to formally offer those contracts.

Sorry to interject EV, but is the Chesser news based on any Intel? Loved what he showed the last month of the season, would be a steal for a club to get him on the cheap.

Obviously for your sake I hope you keep him, but would love to take a punt on him at the Blues.

Intel unfortunately Walshy. Not a fait accompli but more likely to go than stay, really hope he sticks around.

The fact that he was delist material a month ago and now still hasn't signed a two year deal that’s been in front of him for over a week would also support this.

Don't disagree, any player unsigned this late in the piece is always up in the air.

Chesser is such a an interesting case though as he's clearly got huge natural talent. Just a matter of whether he's past his injury woes or not.

Especially considering he’s played 36 games despite never showing that much, and was generally selected to play AFL whenever he was fit. It’s not like he’s been forced to languish in the WAFL

Hard to lose something that unfortunately has already been absent for a while…

I wonder if Essendon are actually an option for Flyin over the Saints. Draper compo and their existing early picks could open up some options for us to shuffle picks and move up the board. As opposed to the Saints who will be trying to juggle several other trade targets, have limited picks and supposedly won’t trade contracted players.

Chesser isn't even from Victoria. He is from Albury.

If those are the two clubs chasing, unless their money and years offers are (recklessly) more, I'd be pretty confident in retaining his services.

Zero intel on trade worth/negotiations, just that as it stands he’s more likely to accept a multi year vic offer.

IF he went to the blues first question I’d ask is a pick slide with their TDK compo to Hawks 1R given a likely Dean bid anyway. They would probably rightly counter with Brisbane 2R which I’d decline in turn and tell Campbell he might be the #1 pick.
