Imogen Brown – Shin available

Awful news about Maddy. Pretty healthy list overall though - kudos to our physios and S&C and other staff.

I think we have to look to sign an injury replacement for Maddy so (a) we can get a good look at them before post-season list management decisions; and (b) so they are maximally integrated if we have injuries later in the season and need to call on them.

Kiara Hillier – Concussion

Kiara sustained a concussion during training last week and has been placed in concussion protocols. She is progressing well as per AFL concussion guidelines and is expected to rejoin modified team training this week. She will be unavailable for Round 4 and will be a test for availability in Round 5.

Sofia Hurley – Foot

It will create an opportunity for someone else. Rd 4 and 6 are the "best ones" to miss.
That's true. Who do you think will come in.
Will we see Chloe more in that Sofia role and even maybe Zippy in there and they bring maybe Bec in up forward. Will they share the role with maybe even Cynthia or Holly taking it in turns rotating through the middle or is there a player that goes into the Sofia role from those that havent played yet.

That's the question. Do a "like-for-like" or bring in a tall?
Imogen or Sarah G probably with Cynthia doing more midfield minutes OR
Bec, Giselle or Lexi - again with Cynthia moving to the midfield.
Not sure about teeny tiny Holly spending a lot of time in the mids but...
Either will improve our depth and require us to change things at least some.
Personally I like seeing Zippy doing what she's doing. Her incisive kicking from HB is so valuable. More space and time too.

The news about Hurley is certainly a blow.

I was wondering if Gowans might make a change or two regardless of this injury. He’s been open about his desire to rotate much of the squad through the senior team. It was hard to make changes to the team that ripped Gold Coast apart, but now might be the time.

I am not sure why she’s not been in the team, and have no access to information on how she’s going at training or in the scrimmages, but I’d been looking forward to seeing how last year’s club RS had developed over the off-season. She - Grunden - had plenty of fine moments last year and she could provide a bit of pace to our forward line. I had wondered if someone like Paris might make way, but now there’s scope to being her in without any of the incumbents missing out.

Alternatively, might we bring a forward in - Priv, Lexi, Davies? -and play Molloy even more in the middle than against Geelong? She played a lot there last week anyway, so that doesn’t really pick up the slack created by Hurley’s absence. Could Moloney maybe step up in the middle?

Kiara Hillier – Concussion

Sofia continues to manage some foot soreness. She is expected to return to running this week. Return to play will be determined depending on her progress this week. (2-3 weeks)

Maddy Collier – Ankle

Sofia a test and also Lexi a test...please pass the test.
Kiara looks like she's off the injury list.

I don't want anyone rushed back. I'd rather draw on our depth for GWS and see how some other players go. If we don't defeat the Giants it won't be because one of these players was missing.
