Also we have learnt our lesson over paying for players and output. It’s a bad strategy to bring in injury prone players!

I don't think JSOS is a bad outcome really. Good on him for getting more. By all accounts there are injury clouds and I am glad we weren't pulled in to try and pay overs. Save our time and money for a bigger fish down the track, and put in the time and effort to further develop our young kids.

Yeah, think an extra $1-1.5m over the course of the contract more than outweighs his friendships.

At $1.5 mill he can spend 2 grand a week shouting his mates for the next 5 years, and he’s still ahead by a $1mill.

We’ve seen it’s a struggle for one new recruit to settle into a new gameplan - 4 or 5 will be a nightmare for Lyon in 2026.
But all going well I see them definitely Top 6-8 in 2027

We were all foolish - blokes name is Jack he was always St Kilda bound!

Nonetheless I think the funds we would've needed to cough up to trump St Kilda's offer can be better utilized elsewhere - ideally towards a younger KPD with more upside, and a "ready to roll" midfielder in that 22-25ish year old bracket that can come in and impact alongside Nick for the next 8-10 years.

Will you be complaining if King comes in next year and Rowell the year after? What a bunch of Veruca Salts we have in the board, 'I want a Oompa Loompa daddy now or I'll scream!' Why keep the cap under control when you can splurge the lot now on mediocrity, use the thing up top people!
