You just have to look at Noble and Adams when they were both dropped. McStay has deleted his Instagram account - McStay must be devastated given the amount of work he has put in to recover from injuries.

So imo there is a fair chance he leaves at seasons end.

It was relating to, if he doesn't play any further part in this finals series, and we go onto play in a GF or even a preliminary final, would the club itself shop him around eventhough he has 2 years on a contract left. My mate thought that Melbourne ( need more marking forwards) or West Coast ( with Allen leaving) would snap him up. Could be interesting ....

You are basically saying he’s spat the dummy for being dropped, which is complete bunkum.

I am saying it is possible and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up leaving. You don't know that it's "complete bunkum". Time will tell.

Surely he's not sooking it up over being dropped to the point that he'll request a trade, I'd be staggered.

I'm sure he would know his form has been absolutely woeful. The amount of meetings players have with line coaches and head coach, lm sure the feedback he's been given would be along the same lines regarding his form, but said more tactfully....

Accoridng to Cal, we are "obviously tight salary cap wise".

I dont buy it, only players with long-term contracts past 2027 are N.Diacos, J.Daicos, Cameron, Hill, Perryman, Houston and Maynard. Also, our large cohort of older players are all pretty-much on rolling 1 and 2 years deals on reduced coin.

So true, and it feels like we are so much stricter internally with contracts and terms now.

I think we are best to judge how not getting Jack may affect us after the season is done.
I really wanted him, and I think 750k is about his upper limit.
So no knock on the club here, but they’d want to be looking at big key backs in the offseason before anything else.
Teams are starting to go super tall in the 50 nowadays and you gotta have tall coverage which we don’t.

Um, Darcy Moore is 203cm and Frampton is 201cm, which clubs are rocking 2 key backs that are 200+ other than Collingwood?

Isn't Dan suffering a shoulder problem? If so, that could be the reason he hasn't been picked and why he hasn't been able to play his best.
How about we try to understand from that point of view instead of him being on the outer, no wonder he deleted his Instagram account if people are talking like this to him.

Happy Silvagni isn’t coming to us.

Yeah this is one I never really wanted. Carlton, Silvagni, but also as a player and his injury history.

Good that we missed out and that we didn’t over pay. I actually think we should keep away from FA this year unless we have significant outgoing player(s). You don't want too many "premium" salary players and certainly not a Silvagni type. Always have to pay a bit extra for FAs.

It’s one and the same. Rumours do start from things as innocuous as “he deleted his Instagram account”. One or two people tell their friends, and bingo - you’re off and racing.

Ironically the “I heard from sources” thing would apply here, and ultimately you would be the source with the initial comment which kinda takes off on its own.

It’s a case of Chinese whispers as much as anything else. Not having a go at you. I got caught up myself without really thinking about it critically (a couple of posts above refer).
