I wouldn't have Lance Franklin in the Hawthorn one (when I saw his name I wondered if it was a most talented list, but can see Sheedy, Norm Smith and others are in the list, highlighting it is indeed the most important figures for a club, as a "Mt Rushmore" should be).

Franklin was obviously awesome but ultimately played less than 200 games for the Hawks, is not in our top 4 goalkickers and 'only' played in 2 flags.

I think an appropriate replacement should be chosen from:

John Kennedy Snr- 4 best and fairests as a player, captained the club to its first ever finals series (after decades of ineptitute) and 5 seasons as captain and best player during a transformative era. Took over as coach and completed the transformation from (terrible) amateur club to a professional outfit with "Kennedy's commandoes", becoming easily the fittest and most disciplined club in the league and coaching Hawthorn to it's first 3 flags over 290+ games in 2 separate stints (we were poor in between). Hawthorn TOTC coach, bronze statue of the man at our HQ and one of the first Hawthorn reps granted legend status at the AFL (Also did plenty off field over the decades post coaching and a legacy with his son and grandson).

Michael Tuck - Most Hawthorn games (426 - league record for 3 decades), most wins (league record), most Grand Finals (11 - league record), most premierships (7 - league record). Captained the club to 4 flags. MUCH better player than some people remember - captained Victoria, multiple Carnival era AA's and Team of the Years, runner up in the B&F to the greatest player of all time 6 times, etc, etc.

Sam Mitchell - 300+ games, 5 B&F's, 4 flags and the most consistently elite player during our 3-peat, 4 flag era. Brownlow medallist (top 3, 4 times), captained a flag and one of the greatest finals performers of all time. Holds lots of Hawthorn statistical records (Most Brownlow votes - 3rd all time, most 30+ disposal games, most disposals, most clearances, etc, etc). Now coaching the club (with promising early signs).

I would also include Peter Hudson. 1 premiership. 4x Coleman medalist. Equal most goals in a season with 150. Only 1 of 2 players that averaged more than 5 goals a game. Has the highest goals per game record at 5.64. 2x all Australian, 2 x club BNF. So definitely worth a mention as well.

If we could add administrators as well, then can’t go past Ian Dicker, saved the club from being taken over, put us into a great financial position.
