100%! McStay is a plus for the team. He's not a failure, nor is a trade-out candidate. He's out of form, apparently dealing with shoulder injury, but he'll work through it and come back stronger.

Can we please put a stop to this needlessly negative narrative?

I don't think he is a failure - agree with that.

However, given his age and injury history then I believe he would be a good player to consider to trade, if the offer was right. The obvious clubs are Carlton and Melbourne.

If he ends up staying then I hope he goes well.

Injury history? Yes he has been unlucky with his ACL and a PCL but was pretty injury free at the lions. Just a little bad luck recently that’s all.

Yeah I think. I also think he might be able to be got for almost nothing as he may now fall into the delisted free agent. I think. Not sure on that category but think coz he got delisted another club can list him without going through draft.

Nah it was Cal Twomey clickbait. He said that there's a belief that Collingwood have landed a big fish which generated a lot of clicks and follow on discussion and then a couple of weeks later he said that Collingwood haven't landed a big fish.
