It's shit like this that makes my skin crawl when we have supporters, our own, defending the Collingwood players and supporters for them.

We need to find a way to win next week. Unfortunately we’re now on the hard side of the draw (since 1st isn’t supposed to lose to 4th). Hawks or GWS. Get past that and we get Geel/Bris away. Yikes.

Positives:

• We were due for a loss, maybe that’s it
• Team now knows what it takes to win finals. Better we have that performance now than in a grand final
• We are still only 3 wins away from the flag
• If we make it, Rankine can play which would have made the entire drawn out process and media pile on worth it

Move on, lift the pressure next week and show the comp why we finished 1st.

But just have to win next week now, no second chances.

One of the most botched team selections I’ve ever seen. Michalanney played in a role he’s got absolutely no clue how to play for no reason whatsoever other than a coach shitting the bed and selecting 9 defenders.

A midfield devoid of poise. Including the captain and Soligo who were both pathetic when it mattered.

Send out the search party for Fogarty. Did he even play the second half?

The only positives were Curtin, Pedlar, Worrell, Neal-Bullen and Laird.

Nobody else coped with the pressure. Not one.

in fairness, Bond played above expectations. I still think he shouldn’t have been picked tho

Ugly: Booing Quaynor. No evidence Rankine’s stupid brain fade “sledge” was directed toward him but now no matter how the rest of the finals go we will be seen as the backwards team with homophobic players and fans that support it.
Honestly was close to walking out after that- I was embarrassed to be seen as a crows fan if that’s how we carry on. The team shitting the bed doesn’t help at all, just makes us all look like sore losers

Yep. The way to keep JDaicos in check is to score goals, and make him defend. Without Rankine and Rachele we're pedestrian up forward, and in the midfield. We didn't look like scoring any crumbing goals at all, whereas they were dangerous all night - Cox clearly told to bring it to ground at all opportunity - esp in the 3rd qtr, and they capitalised. Finals are won by pressure all over the field...and we were not able to bring it in our forward line, especially.

I'd have thrown the team around a bit more if I were Nicks - even at half-time, as we were lucky to be only 6 points down then. Guys like Hinge should've been moved forward, Michalanney behind the ball, Curtin in the middle, Fog in the carpark, etc.

Need a gun mid (can we go for Zack Merrett?), and then Sid Draper to step up next year...

WHEN YOU DO NOT DRAFT ELITE MIDS WHEN YOU BOTTOM OUT YOU GET MID RANGE HEART AND SOUL PLAYERS LIKE SOLIGO AND BEZ. And then it shows when the big stuff starts.

Peatling has been so good all year and he decides to stink it up tonight. Give him a mulligan for tonight but if he gets done again next week you have to question his ability in big finals games.

Thought he had good final for GWS last year? So hopefully can deliver next week

Well I was hoping for a win but a loss like this was also a possibility. Basically an experienced side and finals experienced coach against a young side and rookie finals coach.

We weren't far off most of the game was pretty even except for the third quarter.

Did the bye help us much, did it help them lots? Who knows time will tell. I don't think many of players were particularly banged up and being young we might not get much help out of it, them on the other hand...

Peds and Berry has best games of their careers. Tex was good in his 300th. Don't understand the hate for bond, thought he was serviceable, which is ok considering his level of experience. Most of our other players were ok.

At least Nicksy did a few creative things, tried the B team in the mid and that seemed to get us going again in the 3rd qtr, I think we got the rucks to open up the taps a bit too. We also manned up the spare in the last, though with a short player I think, not sure of the wisdom of that. Nick's needs to have the courage to try things a bit earlier.

I thought probably our worst thing for the night was not giving as many first gives as we should've, with the less time and the extra pressure of finals that got us into a lot more trouble than we wanted. Special mention to trying to fend off our opponents too much, once you fend you've lost the second arm for the handball and then we couldn't give the quick give, we needed to adjust how much we did that badly.

I just hope we can win the next one, every extra finals match we can get this year will be gold.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so ashamed of our supporter base as I was tonight.

The booing of Quaynor was nothing short of disgraceful.

To his credit, he stood in the guard of honour and still clapped Tex off the field. He has a hell of lot more class than many of our supporters.
