Hard to get a gauge on how good we were. Were they just really bad? Our pressure was huge and it was a panicked dump kick forward frenzy from them. No surprise that Billy and Darcy dominated in a game where our mids had them panicking and dump kicking it. If we can do that to the better midfields we'll win the thing, but Brisbane's mids aren't going to panic like that as often.
Our team defence will get us over the line. Our midfield is now comparable to the best. I reckon we've broken the shackles and we'll be good enough to beat any side. The sides with powerful midfields have deficiencies in other areas. Adelaide were pretty good last night but we were just better

I was telling my wife and daughters last night how it was a shithouse piece of parenting and I blamed Mrs Tex for not putting her foot down and dressing the kid up in Crows gear to show respect to dad.

Guess that shows the type of person I am! :)
Actually I taught my daughter well when she was growing up I told her you won't be fed unless you barrack for Collingwood
Advance some years and the same response to her children, as you can see both proud supporters and well fed
Very proud :D

It was really pissing me off how Keays wouldn't shut the fk up so Bruz could enjoy the win.

I’ve got a different philosophy. If you forgive Bruz for being a peanut (the tackle is OK even though he knew they were gone but the standing over is a bit much) because emotions are so high in these high stakes high intensity games, then you can extend the same grace to Keays. Don’t think anyone did anything too untoward.

Actually the worst act of the night was Keane on Sidey (probably because he was being pushed by Checkers all game). He is incredibly lucky Sidey has unbelievably quick reflexes and dodged his elbow to the head. He would copped weeks otherwise.

I just thought he went on with it for way too long.

Have a look at these “efforts”

Thilthorpe has a paddock and freezes and good old Keays 💩 calling for it from an inferior position. :thumbsu:

I think you’ve answered your own question “our pressure was huge”. So it can only be that we were very good and made them look ordinary.

Any team playing us in the Prelim will have to find a way to cope with our sustained pressure first and foremost.

Degoey back is huge. Just cannot underestimate that. Long playing one of his best to. Add to that Mccreery and Schultz getting continuity together after missing a lot of footy. That’s a huge improvement for our game style. A winning/break even midfield and pressure.

Cox did help with how we play. It must be said.

Howe will play. I’m confident. I’m resigned to Bobby being done for the season. The commentary from the club isn’t giving me strong vibes he’s in contention at all.

A great 2 weeks to sit back, relax, and watch other teams smash each other
Hill is a lock to come back in, hes way too good not to.

Key Player review

Keays : tackled to oblivion. Effort improved markedly after the full time siren was blown
Dawson : outshone by Long
Keane: negated by Mihocek sacrificing his game along with the return of the Cox/Cameron combo
Fogerty : Maynarded to oblivion
walker : pass
Thistlethwaite : squibbed it

The rest of them: invisible or ineffective once the key players were shut down

Brilliant strategy and execution by the pies to shut down the playmakers and expose the depth

I think you've re-asked my question.

Adelaide sure as hell didn't have the composure or method to cope with our pressure. Hopefully no other team does, but I thought they were really bad in that regard and I doubt teams like Brissy will be that bad - they don't have to though as that could have been a really big win if we took our chances in front of goal.
