Let's see how the semi goes.We need blokes that will take us further in finals, not pad out scores against weaker sides. A ruthless side would trade Keays.

Ruthless sides have guys like Billy Frampton, Rhys Stanley, Darcy Fort etc in them too.We need blokes that will take us further in finals, not pad out scores against weaker sides. A ruthless side would trade Keays.

hopefully Indy Cotton can develop into a star as wellLike Hawthorn, need that extra mid. They aren’t exactly attainable, but all you can do is try. If you get Ah Chee, at least that can free up a bit more of Rachele or Rankine on ball.
Have a couple of handy young players in Draper and Curtin to develop too. Your club’s in a very good place, time to keep pushing and capitalise![]()
And they can spend 15 years saying "Its that basketball background"hopefully Indy Cotton can develop into a star as well

While I tend to agree and dont want Oliver -the bigger issue of course is trustIf we’ve got two first rounders to throw around then try and get Dyson Sharp - much better bet for my money.
Did you think our list can really contend for the premiership at the start of the year??? I thought we had a list to play Finals and should have played last year but we are still a few years from having a list to contend for the premiership, we overachieved this year. While I tend to agree and dont want Oliver -the bigger issue of course is trust
We wont trust a draftee until year 3
We wont play them and our window is now. Draftees like Draper and Sharp are the extenders of a window
I thought we would win 14 games and then take it from thereDid you think our list can really contend for the premiership at the start of the year??? Its why winning at least 1 final this year will be invaluable for the progress of the side. That will give them belief they can win finals.Did you think our list can really contend for the premiership at the start of the year??? He's ludicrously slow. I can't see how he plays AFL level footy. Will Brodie at Freo looked really good a few years ago. Apparently Port are into him but I can't imagine why they want more mids. Could be worth a look.
I would acknowledge and accept that he was highly rated and possibly even considered among the top handful in the league (not clearly the best and not sure if it was 2023 but a year or two earlier coinciding with Melbourne’s peak) but I think it was part of a general premium placed at the time on high stat gatherers which has now faded rapidly in favour of higher impact players. I don’t think he was ever an elite user of the ball and I’m definitely sceptical that he will ever approach anything like his previous form. Once lost it’s bloody hard to recapture.Short memory here I think - Oliver was the definition of high impact player at his peak.
Start of 2023 he was clearly the best player in the league.

North?I would say Hawks, Pies, Saints, Cats and maybe North will fly up the ladder as the main vic prospects for a premiership. The AFL will conspire against the Saints and North though. They will not want a club who couldnt fill out a suburban amateur league ground getting anywhere near finals.
Merrett more likely has more good football left in him.Oliver is far more damaging than Merrett and 2 years Younger. There is no chance in hell we pass over Oliver for a 30yo.
North?
Why do you think that?
They are futher proof that high draft picks alone is no guarantee of success. The amount of young top end first rounders they have are really going to drive that club into contention at some point.
That really depends on whether Oliver can get fitMerrett more likely has more good football left in him.

They are miles off!
Mentally fit. That really depends on whether Oliver can get fit
5 wins... they are miles off.Not as far off as we may like to believe.
