It was also probably technically a push in the back, as he came up from behind and bumped him flush in the middle of the back, knocking him to the ground, so I imagine that would qualify as a push in the back.

Yep.

I don’t have an issue with either one of them.

Agree. Second one Rayner went down easy to draw the free. The first one I'm not sure he flopped, given that he was looking downfield and o'Connor bumped from behind. I doubt Rayner woulf have been expecting it.

Ok, that is the worst thing I have ever seen in football in my life.

1 - Umpire needs to be fired and never umpire again

2 - Rayner needs to be fined for staging x2 - if it were up to me I would suspend for 4-5 weeks, that weak as piss horseshit acting does not belong in our game.

Act now AFL, that was disgusting, seriously, ****ing gross.
Got money on Geelong mate?

Is that actually the rules?

Rarely see that.

You get the free where the infringement took place, or where the ball is, whichever is better, so yeah, that's the rules.

As for the free, yes, it was soft, but it was also totally unnecessary contact, and I'm OK with off the ball contact being treated as more significant.

The 2nd one was there

The first one was soft as shit
Agree with this. Dumb play for the second free, plenty of mayo on it but just stupid from Guth.

First one though...couldn't believe it. I mean players try to milk that sort of stuff all the time but as an umpire you judge this sort of thing and let it go, I've lost count of how many times I've told players diving for frees 'there's nothing in it get up'. Umpire clearly saw it out of the corner of his eye which isn't good enough, needs to be clear and obvious. Umpire coaches would be tearing shreds off them right now.

Just incentivises Geelong to dive now.

Stewart free was there too. Umpires will be in their rooms saying yeah we are being booed to **** but the calls were there.

Cats really no one to blame but Zac Guthrie. I’ve never seen such dickhead behaviour lol.
Whoever loses this game will be beating you frauds in a Prelim anyway.

It happens 100+ times a game. Most players don't make a big song and dance about it.

Zuthrie logic - here’s an umpire paying frees in the goal square for minor incidents, maybe I should shove this guy to the ground right in front of him
Did lol
