That has to be my fav footage of Rayner from the match - your team is still behind by 16 points after your goal and they never get closer then that for the rest of the match

If you're going to soosh the opposition fans, then maybe wait until you know you're going to win

If I was in the Lions leadership group, like Andrews or Neale, I'd be pulling him aside after that and strongly suggest he reins it in a little as it can quickly backfire when you get too far ahead of yourself

Like an easter egg hidden inside a masterpiece, Scotty has redundancy built into this team. Many can play forward, defence, tag, wing, mid and even the dreaded ruck (remember eons ago when it was curtains when any team lost its ruck midway through a game?). These positional switches can happen many times within the same game. Many times on a whim! Jezza & Humphries were on the wing at stages.

Someone blindfolded could spin the magnets on the board and this team would still win!

Did I hear Bailey Smith in the post match interview say he's going on the piss tomorrow?
No!

He’s only doing nose beers after flag 🤭

Said he’s meeting a few mates on the weekend + getting the body + mind right, + relaxing.

You can probably all guess what the bulk of this article is about - gotta love the media getting out in front of this and making it a genuine story, rather than some trying to run with a narrative of Scott sooking should he dare mention it

Dangerfield was powerful and strong when it mattered, Mark Blicavs was outstanding in the absence of the injured Rhys Stanley, Bailey Smith and Max Holmes got going as the game wore on and Tom Stewart and co held up a massive Geelong defence which restricted the Lions to only 11 goals - three of which came through dubious decisions.

I just home from the game. Why aren’t they talking about a suspension for rayner diving not just once but twice. It was disgusting. They should be suspending players for that crap. In fact, many of the lions players dive. It’s in their culture.
Lohman did it earlier also. 3 goals from the biggest flops you’ll see.

Poppa Fagan was very complimentary in his presser, despite looking like he was about to cry.
He said they over handballed instead of kicking and we were too quick on it.
Simple enough, but ain't pressure grand.
I did say they were going to lose at half time because he forgot his cow cud he usually chews on.

Let’s win Prelim first. 🤣
I've seen

The umpire deserves a suspension more. Imagine if we lost by under 2 goals!

Nah no suspension, tarring and feathering please

Thinking about Stanley and his undocumented hamstring issue, when he was subbed out against Collingwood earlier in the year with a hamstring complaint he only missed the two weeks

- subbed out in round 8, sidelined for rounds 9 & 10, then back for round 11

Depending on the severity of the issue, it could almost be a similar timeline to our prelim - two weekends of no football & maybe crossing fingers he's good to go

Guess it all depends on the severity of the injury though

You know sometimes I think we're just too good at football, and it's unfair, we should really take a gap year or something. Let someone else have a go
No is the answer you’re looking for 😂

Really glad to see some serious heat being applied to that deplorable umpiring:

I don't want controversy for the sake of it, but we need to actually help out the umpires here and come up with a serious policy to eliminate staging.

Suggestion: All games are reviewed post-game. If you stage egregiously, you get a one-week immediate ban. No appeal.

Dickheads like Rayner will stop flopping around, umpires stop having to play detective in front of 85k fans in a final, and we don't see great games potentially ruined when all eyes are on the game.

****ing simple. Fix it, AFL.
