Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice - Just standalone DLC to the main Shadow Tactics game. Very, very good real-time stealth game that has a bit of challenge to it without the frustrating aspect, because I enjoyed trying to find the different ways to get past certain situations without wanting to pull my hair out, haha. Highly recommend.

I own Desperados III and Shadow Gambit that they also made, so I'll get to those at some point as well. It's a pity the studio went under :/

NBA 2K26 on the switch 2.

Obviously graphically no where near that of the XBOX, only done hand held at lunchtime but yeah graphically its a fair way off but gameplay wise was basically the same and ran fairly smoothly. Interesting to see how it shapes up on the docked mode.

I started playing it last night since it dropped at 10pm Perth time. Very much the same game again with all new everything so I am very happy. $29.50 on Switch too, bargain.
holy.

this is insane. i'm a huge fan

IIRC you're not into horrors, right? Would have to say Hell Is Us would be go-to based on what I've seen of both

Horror is a weird one for me. I love the genre but suck at the games. My limit is stuff like Dead Space (which Cronos looks like it is heavily influenced by) and Callisto Protocol. I think I just struggle with the stress of horror games where you can be stalked like in Resident Evil, Outlast etc. I'm leaning towards Hell Is Us because I think the environmental storytelling and lack of map is something I could immerse more in and I've seen a few people recommend it to fans of Alan Wake, but it also comes across as a AA game that will likely be heavily reduced by Christmas. Normally I wouldn't care but the coming release schedule is absolutely bloated with stuff I want to play so I think I've only got time to squeeze one of these two in for now.

Yeah I can agree with you there. I have to give myself a bit of a push sometimes to pick up or continue on with certain horror games. One's that starve you of ammo a-la Resident Evil games, or have perma-death a-la Song of Horror, etc. It can take me many hours to get comfortable with horror games (mechanics, being better at the game, knowing what to expect more or less, etc.) that it makes it easier dealing with horror aspect. If that makes sense.

But yup, I'm really interested in Cronos since it does look like a mash of Dead Space, Callisto Protocol type stuff. Have read there is an extreme dearth of ammo in the game, so I'm interested to hear more on that.

By the way, Mgla released a previously unreleased song that was cut from the Exercises in Futility album in case you hadn't heard (and wanted to check it out)

I saw the same re: ammo but looks like you can craft ammo though I don't know how rare the materials are or if you're better putting them into other stuff.

And yep, saw Mgla announce that track! New Blut Aus Nord tune dropped too. Cool new games releasing along side new stuff from my favourite bands so it's like Christmas in September.

Started The Rise of the Golden Idol. Very challenging puzzle / detective type game where you have solve how a crime unfolded by clicking on various clues on the scene then using relevant words to solve the mystery. Hard to explain, but this is how it looks:

GTA V Online

Purchased another lot of businesses (car wash etc), bringing my once $20 million nest egg down to 2.8 million (had Purchased cars, planes etc as well in recent months).

10ish hours of game time over the last week. I'm already back up to 5.3 million. A mix of running the new businesses and errands for the older ones, safe collections etc.

Funny that there's no real reward for playing the game but I like the routine of it.

I've tried GTA online about 5 times and could never get into it.

Always just wanted to shoot and kill other people or race others instead of doing heists and missions that took hours to find and get into. Plus everytime I would find a race I would get absolutely smashed by other people in faster cars.

Don't see the appeal at all.

I had the same opinion when it first launched. I can't explain what hooked me in - especially since there's no real aim or point in playing it.

I generally get bored doing the collectible side missions in games still try and do them game by game just to be able to have 100% completion when I can be bothered.

My interest comes and goes in waves, I can play it daily for weeks... then not touch it for months. I used to concurrently play it on xbox, ps and pc..... Nowadays I just concentrate on the pc version.

Right now the only motivation I have is rebuilding the bank balance I once had.

genuinely, firmly believe that silksong is the best game i've played all year. it's a step up in difficulty from the original, the enemy and character designs are amazing.

everything about it works so well.

I couldn't get into Hollow Knight but soulslike games have grown on me in recent times (Elden Ring and Lies of P) so maybe I'll give this one a shot.

I'm about 5 hours in and absolutely loving it.
Fixing the checkpoint system has been a godsend. Having benches near boss locations instead of having to travel 5-10 mins everytime you died really turned me off Hollow knight.

Until the last judge

I don't know what it is but I feel like Hollow Knight was much better so far

Still good and addictive but something is just a bit off

not gonna lie I could never get into Hollow Knight. tried and tried but just felt a bit boring to me. but I love the two Ori games..feel like the art, music, story, emotion, world makes the difference for me..

all I've played last few weeks is a few mindless multiplayer games with some work people. Peak, REPO etc. Silly fun with people you know but can't see more than 15-20 hours out of these games

Hollow Knight & Silksong are just dark souls versions of Ori. A bit like Dark Souls compared to God of War.

Very well made and Brilliant games if you can stomach the methods required to succeed. Having no map for large parts can freak some people out but scribbling it when you rest at a bench helps show you what places you have missed.

GTA V Online:

Current bank balance:
18BWz2j.png

I was up to 9.2 million (raced up from 3.8 to 5.2 to 9.2 million very quickly!) but blew a lot of it on 2 fancy pants cars. Well one super duper car and a delivery truck lol. My game time has exploded for the week (16.5 hours) - BUT my actual playing time is under 10 hours. Yes I did do some business runs to help build up the bank balance (some 600k - 900k runs) but for the most part I've just let the game idle and build up the balance of all of the business safe's. Then I'd go and collect them all once full, rinse and repeat.

Back up to 5.2 million when I was down to 3.5 after the purchases.

On AL since start of september to the 22nd
No plans thus far due to pretty important stuff is cant shirk so no travelling this AL period.

Putting some time into Hades, Slay the Spire, Hollow Knight and during the night for the atmosphere Soma and Subnautica
